no its called 5h1t marketing, leading to a situation where you have only sold a few thousand tickets and realising that you need to do something urgently to stop the embarrasing situation of a National side drawing a crowd of less than 10k in its heartland.

nobodies attacking the crowd (how can they when it isn;t played yet?) the point of the discussion is the sad state of affairs of Int RL's standing in Sydney that the friendly warm up game has to be there in order to attract a crowd for a Kangaroos game (and may attract more than the main event!)

To have to play another game to attract a crowd isn't good marketing. Good marketing is attracting people to the advertised event. To change the event means the marketing was so poor they couldn't get enough people to the original event.

It's like moving the England/Cumbria game to Old Trafford with the Grand Final because they couldn't get a crowd. Is that good marketing?

Sydney shouldn't get tests next time around until they can prove they are going to put the effort in. This game would have probably got more in Perth.

It's not bad for the paying customer, no. It's bad for business and the image of the game that we need to have a curtain raiser to attract a crowd to see the best team in the world play at home.

Why don't they play it in PNG? There would be a capacity crowd at the ground and another 15,000 in trees around the ground to see it.

Just because something is good for the customer doesn't mean it is marketed well. They aren't even nearly the same thing.

I could have the best product in the world. But if it's not marketed well, no-one will buy it. If I make it better, the only people it will benefit are the few that it were marketed too before.
