To be honest I don't think that there is any possible RL tie that would fare comfortably ratings wise going up against the climax of the Premiership season. It's a shame in terms of dispelling the M62 corridor myth that this tie is not on the Saturday as it would have had more chance of being noticed by the wider public.

the way the bbc look at it is that all SL ties are picked for tv over other games.

so it's likely between hudds v wire, quins vs saints and crusaders vs dragons.
though as the bbc don't seem to move with the current state of the game, they may go with Widnes vs Wigan

That was one of the most boring SL fixtures I have ever seen on SKY earlier this year.

Crusaders v Catalans earlier in SL may have been boring (and I'm sure your 7-0 win over Salford was none too high in the excitement stakes either). That doesn't mean that the next meeting between the two will be dull as well. Games between the same opponents as we all know can vary greatly.

In 2007 we comfortably beat Catalans 30-0 in SL in a one sided game. I was elated as we got them in the CC semi (played a month after that win) thinking we would get a similar outcome. How wrong was I? Don't pre-judge it and write it off just yet.

Obviously Huddersfield-Wire is one game. I wish Widnes had a full team because their game V the Pies would have been a blinder, bearing that in mind i'd put Crusaders v Cats on.

What time is it kicking off? All football games on the last day kick off at 4pm so if it's 1.30pm/2pm like the Sunday BBC games usually are then it won't clash.

Most of the pubs country wide who will be showing one of the 4 Premier League games that will be televised simultaneously at 4pm that afternoon.

Double header, day before when their are no major 3pm kick offs would have been a better idea. Even one of them kicking off early evening would have been better.

Putting up a far less well supported sport in direct competition as has been done is either sheer idiocy or a sly attempt to post a very low viewing figure. The latter would allow RL to be continued to be labelled an M62 sport and would seriously affect interest from other broadcasters for the rights. Thus allowing anyone bidding to get the rights for a lower price.

The reasoning for putting the sunday tie on 2 hours later than it would normally be broadcast when this puts it in direct competition with something that will easily beat it ratings wise surely should be questioned. Why didn't the BBC opt for a double header and give both games a fighting chance of attracting more than a pitiful audience.

The reason for it is because they have the Spanish Grand Prix on BBC One at 1pm.

Perhaps they could move the game to 8pm on a friday like they do for the six nations games?

There is no reason not to play the game as an early evening KO on the Sunday, massive carry over of sports fans looking for something other than Spanish footballers falling over.
