| So we know that Leeds and Wigan are 2 of the 3 teams to qualify for next years WCC. The third choice comes down to the RFL. Who will they pick?
Saints finished second to Leeds in the regular season so would stake a claim.
We all know though that RL is all about the situation at the end of the playoffs, and Huddersfield finished above Saints.
Saint Helens V "australian" would probably have a bigger draw.
If you believe the talk from last year would the RFL give the game to the team who "turned it down" (they actually were never asked)
Warrington won their place last year on "post playoff standing". On consistency surely they should be offered it to the giants.
OR will they throw a complete curve ball and offer it to the CC losers ............

| I think that the fairest thing to do would be to simply offer it to the next highest placed team so that would be Huddersfield of course.

| The end of the regular season wasn't until last week, that's why the LLS wasn't handed out until then. We just culled a few teams off after 23 games.
So the regular season table was Leeds-Wigan-Huddersfield-StHelens.
But Huddersfield are not a good advert for the game crowd-wise as they get 4000 in a 20+thou stadium and it looks rubbish. So I have a feeling they will pick Sts instead of them.
Arguments for:
3 games this season between Sts and Hudds, 2-1 to Sts
Sts got further in the CC
Better crowds
Or is this the chance for Huddersfield to crack the Hudds public and get some fans in through the door and possibly entice some to continue watching all season?
To be honest, in fairness of the new "top four" I think it should be all four teams against the NRL's final four.
Friday night 4th v 4th
Saturday afternoon 3rd v 3rd
Saturday evening 2nd v 2nd
Sunday evening WCC

| Oldham Roughyeds
They have by far and away the best stadium in the game which is spot on for a meaningless 2nd or 3rd game.

| only fair to offer it to huddersfield
granted they dont have the best crowds but the catchment area to bring in other supporters to the game is too good to miss, i know a few hull fc/kr fans who made the trip over to st helens earlier in the season to watch the game v souths so why cant fans do the same at huddersfield
saints had their go last season
smacks of favouritism otherwise (or the other rumour i heard is that its the aussie teams choice who they want to play)

because some would rather have full house signs, yet not bother about being nilled and humilated at home by the aussie champs!

| attendances shouldn't come into it but they will do, there's not many sticks left to beat Huddersfield with.
do you think the Australians will be saying that cronulla, for example, shouldn't take part because they don't fill their stadium every week?

| Huddersfield V Cronulla, even if publicised to the hilt with free admission wouldn't fill the stadium.

| Huddersfield should get it.
It shouldn't be up to the RFL to choose a team or for a team to refuse it. It should be a set system.

| Should go to Huddersfield, if they get hammered at least it will be in front of the minimum amount of fans. The RL might fancy a gig on humberside so they could give it to the CC runners up Hull K R. Or they could get Leeds to play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Lastly they could give it to Saints on the basis that Saints have won more games than Huddersfield in super league.

| Hudds should, by all rights, get it, but I can honestly see Warrington being involved purely for the fact our new season Aussie signings (Sandow, Gidley etc) would create a modicum of interest to the fans down under.

No way they will offer the game to Warrington who finished 6th. Not only do they not deserve it, there would be uproar at Hudds, Saints and even Cas if it happened.

| I'd love to see the Giants play in such a game. Would only be fair and would probably drive people more to grab top 3 and make a better competition in the future.
We win... We get confident in big games (possibly) and grab more fans and add abit more competition to the big teams.
We lose... It'll disrupt our season and we will not make the playoffs, lose to Bradford in the million pound game and a lot of you won't have to complain about our boring tactics anymore.

| Didn't Hudds get offered it last year and knocked it back? If the SL club has to foot the bill like last time surely that would just happen again. I'd be very surprised if it isn't Leeds, Wigan and Saints tbh.
