He tweeted about it during the game on Sat. Rooney tweeted he was at the game and he is a a Leeds fan (?).

A few other tweeted how they enjoyed the Leeds/Wire game, but can't remember who!

There was a feature on Football Focus on Saturday about video referees that included quite a lengthy interview with Stuart Cummings and ended with Joey Barton mentioning he was a big RL fan and was going to the Grand Final and there was a plug for BBC2's highlights.

Nicky Campbell still runs down the game at any opportunity. His one question to League players "would you like to play Union" had to be changed when he had McBanana on the programme to "which of England's 15 would you pick"

On know it*s not telly but on Talksport this morning i think it was Ray Houghton and Ronnie Irani were saying how they really enjoyed the grand final on saturday,,and then on the afternoon slot think it was Hawksby and Jacobs,,again they were really talking up Saturday game,,some good post over the weekend on Skytexts page 459 as well....

H&J are the best Talkfootball presenters for RL. They regularly mention the game, and both go to the Challenge Cup Final.

I read a tweet off the Welsh comedian Mark Watson after the Wire-Leeds game that went along the lines of 'i'm a south welshman, but I have to admit this game of rugby league is brilliant'

What's even more interesting is that I've not heard anyone, celebs or otherwise, bigging up England RU or the RU World Cup in general. In fact the only stuff I've heard has been criticism and boredom.

SL has attracted some excellent and enthusiastic comments from people in the public arena in the last few weeks. What a shame we don't have people at the top who know how to capitalise on them.

Rio Ferdinand & Wayne Rooney are big fans, I remember when the 2007 Rugby World Cup was on and Rooney was asked if he had been watching it and he said something on the line of "No I've been watching the League and it's brilliant"

Quite a lot of cricketers and footballers have good things to say about RL. Sides is a Bulls fan (I think), Matthew Hoggard likes it, Fred Flintoft's partial to a game, Nicky Barmby is a Hull FC season ticket holder.

What amazed me was finding out that, despite being built like a rugby player, Tim Bresnan had trials for Leeds United!
