That's what happens when you don't go cap in hand to the local authority or football club. These things take a bit of time.



Anyway, it's not as if our licence is under threat is it?

So the away fans still get wet? Is that really acceptable in 2012?

Council didn't build or fund the LSV , or the local footy team either , they cannot afford to play there anyway

What you also need to remember is that Leeds CF&A, the parent company of Leeds Rhinos, has funded many of the developments on the cricket side of the ground (including the Western Terrace, the East Stand and hotel and the Wintershed Stand) and various corporate facilities. The Carnegie Stand was largely funded from the sale of the cricket ground, with Leeds Met becoming a partner as they looked to extend their own facilities.

It's all about prioritising. For the past ten years, the cricket side of the ground was the biggest priority for Leeds in order to retain test cricket. To say that Leeds haven't invested in Headingley is completely inaccurate.

There was no way possible of adding a roof on the stand due to the houses behind.

Looks nice, but all you Leeds fans know your going to get many fans complaining that there isnt a roof over the away end....

Build a new ground in a more suitable location?

At least they can watch all of us keeping dry in our nice new stands.

Certainly the least favourable option. The fans, generally, don't want a ground on a retail park car park in the middle of nowhere (there's very little land within "the city" that would be cheap / suitable enough). One of the biggest attractions to Headingley (and one of the reasons that people cite on this forum for Leeds being a good "away day"icon_wink.gif is the surrounding area. The club also has too much revenue generating infrastructure already at Headingley (mainly the hotel).

Again, there is no "away end" at Headingley. Away fans are free to buy tickets in the North, East and South stands if they wish. And you could equally make the argument that having the choice to stand in the open is a plus side to Headingley, particularly in the more favourable weather.

The pictures are a bit unclear. I'm assumng the away end is terracing, which is good if you ask me. The South Stand all terraces?

why is this in the 2011 brochure, surely no one is implying we will see any of that in 2011? it is too late to start this close season isnt it?

How can a University afford to 'sponsor' anyone in this day and age of reduced funding and cutting of courses.

Because everybody else has pictures of ' pretty ' stadiums instead of ancient dumps , and leeds didn't want to be left out

Universities have afforded to keep entire sports going down in toffville.

I have my theories about Carnegie. They are clearly involved in more 'research' than they let officially.
