| I seriously wonder what these AFL folk have been smoking.
They seem to be chasing young rugby league players and Gaelic football players. Does anyone in Australia play the game?? Seems to the far eye that they need to poach players from other sports. What's the need for coming to Ireland and taknig gaelic players when there should be plenty of young Australians ready to take that place.
But anyway this is about RL so...
STOP TRYING TO TAKE OUR PLAYERS and leave our sport alone.

| I said a while back when Hunt went that they'd chase Falou for the Western Sydney team which will be a costly mistake if they get him.
They're pretty stupid to be honest, although Falou spent his formative years in Minto, he has played for Queensland, The Broncos and The Storm, the 3 most hated Rugby League teams in Western Sydney.
He isn't popular in Western Sydney, he is seen as the enemy. Him going to AFL will do nothing positive for them.

there is quite a few who would make decent wingers.centres or possibly half backs if they converted at 16 or 17. Watched Wirrupunda (?spelling) a few years ago in a derby and he looked a very talented and fast runner and would have made a great centre if he had been playing RL from 15.

As I understand it, AFL isn't exactly seen "around the world"...
No rugby league club is wasting the money on AFL players they are prepared to pay for our players.
That much is brutally clear.

| true but I reckon there is heaps of jnr AFL talent that would be very succesful in our game. I know the Storm SG ball team has some kids they've recrutied from AR and I presume when we get back we will be scouting the WAFL jnr leagues for talent.

| Juniors are a different issue...
Whether it is for the skills of the players or the media attention (in my view it is a combination of the two), it is clear which code has the most prizes in its ranks for the other codes to consider poaching.
The evidence is incontrovertible.
The answer is rugby league.

| What's he been dobbing/complaining about?
If that's the case, what little respect I had for him has now vanished.
Some of the worst people you can meet are dobbers/serial whingers and complainers.
It's a damn footy forum, people put their opinions across, don't like them opinions, put them on ignore or stay away.

im not too fussed if union does it, its more money that a sport with so much money cant produce any decent players like the nrl can.
we just keep producing them

People had a choice back then like they do today.
I'm all for people getting as much as they can, why not.
The only thing I'm not happy about is the fact that when RL got players from Union, it was the individual clubs going after players, these days we have the people running the code paying for players out of spite and then deciding where they'll play them, not clubs doing it out of strengthening their team.
That in my opinion is a big difference.
