| Chanted the huddersfield fans.
Oh dear.
I'm afraid you have to win the grand final for that. They really think they've won a big prize.
Congrats

| Congratulations to Huddersfield and Ken Davey, there must be some nights where he's wondered why he's putting his money into the club but tonight will make it all worth while. Hope RL continues to grow in Hudds.

| Fantastic effort from Huddersfield, think I had them struggling to make the 8 at the start of the year !
Hopefully the birthplace of RL can become a big force and capture the imagination of the town.

| The most deflating end to a regular season ever, waste of time huddersfield being up there, not big enough for a start. :\ (no offence).

If in soccer, a club went from playing in front of a few hundred in the lower leagues to finishing top of the Premier League, or even just won the FA Cup it would be a huge occasion. However in rugby league we just look for negatives and things to hyperventilate about. Sad.

| Congratulations to the Giants.
I find it a shame that people are actually gonna take the mick out of Huddersfield and the fans for finishing top of the league!
"They think they have won a big prize"..... Well, they kind of have.
Unfortunately with the current league structure teams don't get the reward that finishing top deserves. I've always thought the leaders should go straight through to the Grand Final. The fact Wigan finished top of the league last year and won a playoff game yet still didn't make the final is, in my opinion, a joke.

Personally I don't think there is a 'kind of' about it. They HAVE won a big prize. For a start off they haven't finished top of the league in 81 years. If you haven't won something for 81 years but have seen loads of other teams win that thing then the prize is absolutely massive. But secondly, I used to love it when Saints were winning the league leaders' shield. We were the best team in the league. We'd come out on top of everyone else and that's the same buzz as winning the Challenge Cup or the Grand Final. And these days there is actually a ceremony and I think prize money too, which is different from when Saints were winning it.
Petty minded individuals who try and belittle the LLS are usually from clubs who can't win it. They'd change their tune if their team won it!
Well done to Hudds. Best team in the comp and they fully deserved the shield.

Actually it does. Obviously the fixture schedule isn't equal to begin with, but the advantage of finishing top under the current playoff system is sigificantly diminished. Anywhere in the top 4 gives you 2 bites and the opportunity for a home tie to get to the final (if you win your first game). So the grand final contenders no longer bust a gut to finish top.
Look at wigan. They've been farting around resting players and taking it easy. Do you think they would be doing that if 1st place was a worthwhile prize? Not on your nelly.

| It's always the way that when it's not your team winning it, things like the LLC and WCC are meaningless, tinpot cups. But the fact is, if you win it, then you can honestly say you've won something. There is something solid there that says you've been the best team out of the regular season.

| Well done Huddersfield. Is the LLS the biggest prize on offer, well no obviously. But its still a huge achievement and shows they're on the way up towards to the top prize whether that be this year or another.
For a sport that fans complain that the same teams win stuff it should come as a refreshing change and show what you can do over time if a club does things right on the field. 5 different LLS winners in the last 6 years too.

| Ah, the days when the RFL awarded the championship to the team that was most consistent throughout the season.
1974-1997. The only period of sanity.
Well done, Huddersfield. But everyone knows it means bugger all, really.

Wigan have had lots of injuries and ok they have also rested some players but I still don't think it would have changed the end result. Finishing top is a worthwhile prize for any team. It is much harder coming top out of 27 rounds than winning 5 games in the CC or 3/4 games in the play-offs! Huddersfield have deservedly finished top having played some great rugby all season. Why do some people have to try and take some shine off a great achievement?

And we all know regular season results mean nowt when it comes to the play-offs.
We beat Saints 3 times in 2011 (plus a draw) and then they knocked us out in the semi-final. Same last year when we beat Leeds by 50+ and they knocked us out of 2 semi-finals.

| Whoever the Giants play at home in round 1 of the playoffs hold no fear for me, Leeds or Wigan and I simply don't think it can be called at this stage
Personally if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by then it's a Giants v Wire final
