As it is the European Super League and as far as I'm aware we will still be a part of Europe, then I don't see any reason why there would be any issues.

True, just figured there could be Visa problems etc. If someone has any past convictions it could cause problems?

The French visa laws are more lax than here anyway, which is why players who can't get UK visas end up playing for them!

He must be able to get a UK visa now as he's playing at KR for the rest of the season.

I never said he couldn't, I just meant he went to France after the drunken incident.

| Nowt to do with brexit but it looks as though visa issues may cause problems with games in Canada. There’s been a few articles recently claiming the SL sides in the bottom 4 May be missing a few players when they head to Toronto.

| Brexit will be the best thing to affect Britain since VE Day and won't make any different to RL in Europe.
NZ Warriors play in an Australian comp, being a separate nation makes no difference.

Yeah, course it will
As for difficulties in having French sides competing in SL and The Championship, there really shouldn't be any issues.
They seem to manage just fine with The Europa League and Champions League in football.

| There's the potential that clubs, excepting Catalans, could count EU/Kolpak passport holders as quota players rather than having to mess around with the non-fed rule.
It's difficult to say until we have a clearer idea of what Brexit will look like - what 'freedoms' will be gained and how they'll be used by the government of the day. It's still 8 months away, so there's LOADS of time to come up with a plan, and for a chunk of Brexiters to express their fury that their vision of a brave new Britain was pretty much the exact opposite of that imagined by another chunk.
The new season kicks off before then, with no clear idea yet of the new league structure. We should maybe get David Davis in to negotiate a resolution - he's at a loose end nowadays.

| Every SL and championship team should be getting these visas in order now rather than last minute.
That way there can be no problems come match weekend.

I'm sure a re-establishment of stronger economic ties with the British Commonwealth nations like CANADA, Australia, NZ and emerging India etc plus the US, who are on the right track by the way, should ease some of the financial burden that was taken from the gapingly huge Brussel's Sprout.

Getting into sin-bin territory now, so I may split this to there later.
However, how do you envision our agreements with Australia, Canada and New Zealand might differ from and be stronger than our current agreements with them through the EU? Which we’ll obviously lose on Brexiting.
ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/countr ... greements/
Sadly, imo, any deal with the US will likely see us being ‘picked off’ by a much bigger and more powerful negotiating partner, notorious for aggressively (if not always competently) pursuing their own self interest.
Edit, 10.40 am. i’ve overreached a little in a couple of places there. That’ll teach me to try to look clever on the basis of 5 minutes internet research! (maybe)
The EU-Aus/NZ deals are still under negotiation.

Why would the commonwealth, who we already trade with, suddenly be such a great option and thats before we get onto the subject of some of these countries already trying to become republican states, away from our "control"
Anyway, back to RL, we just have to ensure that the game can grow, regardless of who we may get into bed with economically.

You don't think these nations recognise the position of huge weakness we've put ourselves in? They have us by the knackers. S**t happens though and life goes on.

| The main risk to me would be the potential for a reduction in funding from government for the game as a whole if the economy struggles. Austerity has already had a crippling effect on the community game and participation.
As far as travel between the EU and UK is concerned I don’t foresee too many problems. If we need Visas to travel to the EU then they’ve really messed up the negotiations.

Not really. Things have a tendency to work themselves out. A big good bye the endless money pit Brussels Sprout will be a blessing in the long run.

| Not sure it would affect RL too much unless an English team wants to sign a Frenchman. (If visas are required). However it would give Football the chance to cap the influx of non British players in the various leagues if there was no free movement
