Is this the worst refereeing performance of the year? Hewer having an absolute stinker. Almost as bad as Les Catalans.

He is beyond a joke, just gifted Leigh 10 points, we had him against Wigan and he was awful then

Just one glaring error. But I know you won't be able to say it yourself, Leigh have easily been the better of the two up to half time. No idea what the 2nd half will bring though

As I've said on various posts. What the hell do we have linesmen for. Possibility the ref's view was blocked for the push but decided to back himself on a decision.

Hewer has been a mess around the ruck absolute lottery, 2 ridiculous errors. Leigh had to score them and there is no reason Les Catalans had to concede them but Hewer has has a massive influence on taking a one score game to a 3 score game.

If i were a Leigh fan i would worry that without Hewer Les Catalans should have gone in only a try down in a game they shouldnt have been in.

Even without their half back, cruelly injured by the opposition and forced from the field, even with the disadvantage of a scandalously incompetent referee, classic Catalans show their superiority over loathsome lowly Leigh.

I'm sure that the RFL actually brought in a rule change to outlaw what Liam Hood did at the end there. I think Catalan might have won a penalty by doing it earlier in the match also.

In a way I'm glad Catalans snatched it at the end because I wouldn't want such unsporting behaviour being the deciding factor between the two teams. Plus there's the Hopkins try that should never have been given.

Still huge problems for Catalans though. The amount of money invested in the group of players should be putting in performances streets ahead of where they're currently at.

Glad Catalans won, I also hope Patterson gets a ban for his actions against Myler while he was on the deck with a head injury.

That was Acton. And yes that was dangerous to move a potentially unconscious player like that.

Thought exactly the same, was surprised more wasn't made of it by the commentary team.

It was Acton on Bird, but you were close! Potentially very dangerous though, especially if the player on the ground had a neck/back injury.

Joking aside, this game is hard enough without crap like that from Acton, and I would expect
action to be taken especially given the current climate and attitude towards head injuries.

Despite the nailbiting finish - what a dreadful game; all the officials were terrible, and two sets of players who seem utterly unable to maintain any form of discipline.

Acton should be looking at a hefty ban - that was grubby in the extreme.

Leigh and Catalans are both very poor teams who know this and try and turn to thuggery/foul play to try and put the opposition off, Leigh especially don't seem to be able to control their discipline very well and Catalan won the game simply because they decided to try and play rugby for 15-20 mins.

Imagine you were a Leigh player. don't you think he did it because it looked like Greg Budgie 'ted' Ben Reynolds, but he got injured also !!

Disgusting from Acton. If Barba is a 12 game ban for what he did, what does Acton get? IMO it's got to be up there with Ben Flower's. The potential injury to Bird makes what Acton did very, very serious. Hope they absolutely make an example of him.
