I can't even begin with how many of those ratings are bizarre.

1. Tomkins - Didn't seem to want to put his body on the line and didn't come into the line enough - 5
2. Hall - Looked dangerous many times he got the ball - 8
3. Reed - Didn't really see him put a foot wrong - 7
4. Yeaman - Got caught out defensively time & time again - 4
5. Briscoe -Dropped kick early on, then dropped two passes because he had his hands down his side - 4
6. Sinfield - Created nothing. Don't tihnk he brought Tomkins into the line once - 5
7. Chase - As above - 5
8. Graham - Solid as ever - 7
9. Roby - Didn't do much wrong - 7
10. Peacock - Ineffective and decided to have a breather while defending, cost a try. - 5
11. Wilkin - Solid - 7
12. Ellis - Didn't noticed him and bombed a greta opportuntity - 6
13. Westwood - Didn't notice him after 10 minutes - 6
14. Widdop - Looked more dangerous in his 15 minutes spell than Sinfield & Chase did all game -7
15. Morley - Solid - 7
16. JJB - Ran hard but hard too many brain farts - 6
17. Carvell - Solid - 6

how on earth have you got sinfield in same rating as ellis?

Hall for me was our most dangerous player and looked good. Yeaman and briscoe were at fault for the pass that went out, would have been screaming down the wing.

Also think JJB had a ok game and a good series.
Graham played well and I also though wilkin was good had a ok game

those ratings are a bit messed up imo Bull Mania's seemed a lot more accurate

Didnt think Ellis was that crash hot TBH.

6. Sinfield - Created nothing. (Apart from our only try)

With a terrible pass that nearly got his winger killed.

If he passed it properly Hall would have gone in the corner untouched.

It was a brilliant pass, especially considering it was on his wrong hand.

I'm always a little bit disappointed with Ellis at international level. To say he's picked up West's player of the year a few times he doesn't really play like it for England.

Jack Reed on the other hand has come from (metaphorically) nowhere to England superstar. As a saints fan, shenton will have to have an amazing season to get the england 3 shirt back

I agree, same for Burgess when he played. It's up to the England coach to enhance there domestic game ready for the international requirement.
For me only Graham, Hall, Reed and Roby have performed consistently well over the 4 matches.
Too many players performing below par when the pressure is on.

I actually think Burgess has done pretty well internationally. He was one of the only players to turn up against Australia in 2009 in both the final and at the DW if I remember correctly. Before today I thought all the players had done pretty well in the series, but today everyone was below par. Tomkins, Briscoe, JP, Ellis, Morley etc. - all excellent players - didn't show it tonight.

So Kevin Sinfield. Where are all those who denied that he was terrible last week?

He isn't good enough at 6 at international level. Pure and simple. For all the solidity his organisational qualities bring, he is the reason we didn't push them closer tonight.

Score at 8-8 with nearly an hour played and we are on the Australian 10m line with a full set. Sinfield steps up as ever and pops two of his trademark short lateral passes that are around the ears of the runners. All the pressure gone and so were our chances. He did it again the next time we were in that position and it characterises the 4Nations for England. The pack has laid a decent enough platform but we've not been able to apply any pressure at all when it mattered.

He was dreadful today.

Probably in the same place where those who claimed Tomkins had a wonderful game last week are.

Sporting Life:
SAM TOMKINS: Uncharacteristically dodgy under the high ball and unable to get into the attack. 5.

RYAN HALL: Early moment of madness when he threw the ball into touch but took his tryscoring opportunity well. 6.

JACK REED: Superb throughout in defence, including an early try-saving tackle on Uate. 7.

KIRK YEAMAN: Early missed tackle on Thaiday but made up for it with a series of crucial challenges. 6.

TOM BRISCOE: Ran the ball strongly out of defence but came up with a knock-on at a crucial stage. 5.

KEVIN SINFIELD: Worked non-stop but unable to repeat his heroics from earlier in the tournament. 6.

RANGI CHASE: Never in the game and withdrawn well before the end. 5.

JAMES GRAHAM: Typically forceful performance on his final game in England. 7.

JAMES ROBY: England's best by a country mile in the first half and unable to stem the tide after the break. 7.

JAMIE PEACOCK: His sterling first-half efforts did much to keep England in the game. 7.

JON WILKIN: Tireless in defence and tried to vary England's attack but to little avail. 6.

GARETH ELLIS: Workmanlike performance on his return from injury. 6.

BEN WESTWOOD: Failed to reach the heights of his performance against the Kiwis. 5.

REPLACEMENTS

GARETH WIDDOP: Went on for the last quarter but the game was slipping away from England by then. 5.

ADRIAN MORLEY: Held his own on his record-breaking 50th appearance with some powerful hit-ups. 6.

JAMIE JONES-BUCHANAN: Big impact from the bench, his half-break set up the position for England's first-half try. 7.

GARRETH CARVELL: Couple of useful stints which gave the starting props a breather. 5.

Wouldn't disagree with much of that.

Rangi Chase should never put on an england shirt again, been a waste of a halfback and was crap defensively. also that aussie 13 i don't see the point of him. tomkins had a stinker as did hall. my motm would've been either graham or roby non stop work ethic

Chase isn't given any responsibility in attack, so it must be hard for him to impose himself.

10. Peacock - tried hard, but that knock to his knee is obviously hampering him, good in first half, not very effective in 2nd - 6.5
11. Wilkin - solid, tries to do something different but not much happening - 6
12. Ellis - works hard as always but was expecting more from him - 6
13. Westwood - disappointing after last week. Got a big knock early on which seemed to affect him - 5.5

15. Morley - One of our better forwards, strong runs and strong defence - 7
16. Jones-Buchanan - Did well I thought, adds some speed and dynamism to the back row - 7

I'm one of them and I'm here. Sinfield had a very average final by his own high standards (as in my opinion did many England players)
Last week, however, he had a hand in 20 out of England's 28 points and there are still know-nowts on hear claiming he was terrible.
In the final, despite his below par showing, he had a hand in all England's points.
Tomorrow Sinfield will still be a great player and you will still be tragically blinkered.
