Lets hope it does come off, another Welsh team, another Southern team and Midlands team would be brillint coming into Champ 1

Bear in mind that this approach was tried in the 1980s and pretty much failed. Nottingham, Kent, South Wales all fell by the wayside.

Hopefully this time it's based on pre-existing clubs that have infrastructure and junior development so it has a far better chance of succeeding.

I'm pretty sure they were promoted from CC1 into the CC and then finished in the top 2 when 2 teams were added to SL....

Its well known on here Crusaders were fast tracked into super league without any justification at the expense of Leigh

Indeed they were. The trouble came when said promotions weren't achieved on equal terms (quota/salary cap exemptions, dodgy visas etc) and then gave a false idea of their progress.

So in conclusion, yes, they would.

Not to mention the RFL declaring them to be financially sound (in their licencing decision) when CCJs were already being recorded against them.

Back on topic. I can't see how CPC Bears can be serious.

I'm open to the likes of Hemel, Mancunians, Bramley, Nottingham, Coventry etc stepping up but CPC Bears?

I disagree. If a team was set up, started up in Championship 1 and then played by the same rules as everyone else to get promoted through into the Championship. Then met all the criteria fo Super League and were given a franchise in SL what would the complaints be?

the RFL is to be commended for continuing with the welsh experiment despite a small and vocal minority

hopefully the quad nations and world cup will provide further growth in the game in wales
