Quote ="WireWireWire"Thaler being cack goes both ways. Currie challenges for a ball and gets ragged backwards by the collar while he's in the air by Cudjoe so his feet come up off the floor and HE gets penalised because said feet touched a Hudds player as a result. LAUGHABLE. How that went your way Lord only knows. Refs aren't bent they're just generally incompetent.'"
Agreed Wire should have had a penalty...
However I don’t usually ‘bag’ the ref it’s not an easy thing to do..
But firstly watch BMM’s tackle his intention was to put the shoulder in to make Matty think twice about what’s coming when he runs in. No problem with that until it goes wrong.
However when it hits the head it’s a sending off nothing more nothing less.
Austin got a brush of the knee and from the replay it was from his own player and put his hand to his head to try stop the game as Hudds were likely to score.
The grin on his face said it all when Thaler was daft enough to go for it. If it was a bad knock fair enough, he’d have needed a head assessment like Walne, but it was in all but name a professional foul. Followed by a blatant trip for which he was rightly sin binned.
The pass to Widdop was forward in any game, but we’ve all seen em given before and will see them given again.
My point Is that Thaler bottled the big decisions in this game and if he’s the best of the refs god help the worst.
Then in the post match interview Price has the neck to bleat about the adversity of two men in the sin bin, Austin should have been in twice and Masilla sent off I think his bleating was a bit rich.
However on a positive note it was the type of game SKY needed after the one before it if we are to secure a good new TV deal.
Be interesting to see what they make of Tomkins little attempted ‘kick’ very petulant in a game that was almost already won but typical of the man.....
