Personally I will always strongly associate Sunday's with Rugby League, playing as a junior in the morning, then go to the game at 3pm in the afternoon. It sounds strange but a lot of the magic of the evening fixtures for me came because it was on TV, either being at the game with the screen or watching on TV. It doesn't feel the same being at a non-televised evening game.

I would like to see the friday night games reserved for local derbies. As mentioned above, travelling across the Pennines at 6pm on a friday night is enough to put anyone off going to a game.

Not strictly true TV only say which games they are showing, there is no reason why super league/RFL & championship can’t rule that all other games are played Sunday at 1500 or Saturday early evening ie 1600- or 1800 start, I am sure who ever has the TV rights would want no other games on when they showed live games? It is the clubs that insist on Friday night 2000 kick off’s.

Clubs should know when there own fans are most likely to attend and schedule the games accordingly. If you are aiming a game at new/young fans, what are they looking for? If you want the cororate dollar or the traditional fan, what then?

They could even adjust the time/day of kickoffs to take into account the time of year/local factors to increase crowds. If you have a game at an unusual time, market it as such and make it a positive not a negative!

If being moved for Tv schedules costs a club a certain amount of money, then it should take that into negotiations for the new Tv deal, and then the RFL negotiators know what is a good deal/what conditions to put in the contract.

There are lots of kids playing RL on a Sunday morning/afternoon and it doesn’t leave much time to get to the games . Saturday night games could work
