Hmmm. I'm 95% sure you're trolling, because no-one could be so stupid unless on a wind up, but nevertheless I'll bite.
Stevo's 'momentum rule' is simply referring to the phrase in the RFL Laws stating that the thrower's MOMENTUM means the ball can travel forward relative to the ground, but still travel backwards in relation to himself. It's all about momentum.
Try running forwards at full pelt and passing the ball backwards in relation to the point the ball leaves your hands. You'd literally have to hurl it behind you.
I posted it before, but try reading this again:
Quote ="RFL Laws of the Game"The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but [size=130because of the thrower’s own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground[/size. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high, lobbed pass.'"
I don't dispute there were indeed a load of genuine forward passes on Saturday, but that doesn't detract from stubborn idiots who refuse to understand the forward pass laws.
