HOW IT WORKS. . . .
The URL that YOU need to go to to vote is www.thesun.co.uk/dulux.
Once there YOU need to hover over Our area and a bubble will appear with Our photo and Our pledge from our application form. We will then need to click on "vote" enter Your name and email address and then once this is confirmed you will be entered in to a prize draw to win £1,000 for us. Once you have done you then will go through to a page with paint pots for each region. Each time someone casts a vote the paint for our region wil be filled with more paint and you wil be able to see the level in our pot compared to that of the other regions. On the page there will be a facility to send this page to a friend where people can send messages, whatever they want, with the link saying e.g. "come on we need more votes we have to be in the top four to get a makeover."
Tips to rally more votes in Our community:
• Use social networking sites such as facebook, myspace, youtube etc. These are great places to rally support and add the link.
• Also put it on as many newsletters you can.
• Email all your friends, membership lists, email the council et. Remember everyone who votes is in for a chance to win £1,000.
• also talk to your local media, Dulux's PR team have done this with last wave's projects and will also help you to do this, so they may well be in touch.
• Create a flyer, get some volunteers and do a door to door drop.
• If you have an event in the near future make sure there is a computer there with our microsite uploaded so people can enter easily.
The Sun Newspaper is are promoting this in paper and online, have a few tricks up their sleeves and will push as many votes as possible. We want to smash the last wave of 11,000 votes and with YOUR help locally we can do this.
Many thanks for your support
