As long as Worrincey goes and it doesn't inhibit us making other signings then I can live with it, but he'll have more to prove to us than any other signing so far.

Although Sibbit is hardly a player that's going to sell tickets or anything, I think it's fair to give him a chance first to see what he does.

Also remember he played centre for a long time before moving to the back row (and I think he's played a bit of prop too), so he does provide cover for more than one position. If he's coming in as cover, rather than first choice, which I suspect he is, it might not be quite as bad a signing as everyone's first reaction will suggest.

I'm at a loss to explain any new contract for Worrincy though. Sorry, he's had his chance to impress and failed miserably.

One of our biggest problems has been a lack of squad depth. When players got injured, we had nobody who could in to replace them except for going straight to the academy who weren't necessarily ready for too much game time and need time to adapt. It seems to me that Potter is trying to address that issue and make sure we have some cover that has SL experience. The way it's looking, there's only the halves that we don't seem to have much cover for now. And perhaps that's in announcements still to come.

Nothing's been officially announced yet, but everyone seems to have "heard" it. I've certainly been told from 3 seperate places so far and at least 2 of them were very very reliable.

I suspect it won't be announced until after pledge deadline.

If so, would be a useful acquisition IMO and would help out massively in the kicking department where we are so terribly weak.

Agree totally with this. Also reckon that the whole bit around centre/second row/prop can equally apply to Elima. Bulk him out a bit and I reckon he could easily be that 'enforcer' prop that we've been looking for - Elima and Lynch starting in the front row with Hargreaves and Scruton spelling sounds pretty decent to me....

in which case, that implies there is some sort of 'bromance' going on between the 2 of them and Offiah has posted it purely for his own gratification.

Just don't see at all what Sibbitt adds. Have more than enough cover there. Doubt he's got legs anymore for centre. Still aren't strong enough at centre for me, but not many teams in super league are.

Everyone knows halves need sorting out. I guess it's simple a case of not enough good players available.

probably helps in that respect that both menzies and nero were high earners. I'd guess they were both in 80k-100k bracket. only player we've signed who I'd guess is in the upper end of pay scale would be elima. walker,ainscough, ah van all have points to prove and hargreaves to a lesser extent. Only further players I can see going from current squad are sheriffe,reardon and maybe crossley and sculthorpe. the only one of those likely to on a reasonable wage would be scully. Obviously if orford goes then that opens up a big piece of salary cap but a decent replacement would likely take a big chunk of that anyway.

The squad is beginning to take shape now, a little surprised that we still have 3-4 players still to announce though. I expect people such as Orford and Beaver were our top earners though, so I expect that will free up a sizeable amount of cap.

We need some quality playmakers in those final few signings though.

Scullthorpe will not be playing any form of physical sport in the near future.

I think it was Bulls4champs who said he'd like us to sing him, but Stefan Ratchford has signed for the Giants.

Given the noise from down under it seems less and less likely we'll see Orford next year in a Bulls shirt. No smoke without fire. I'd rather be prepared for that scenario.

I'd also imagine given we weren't at full cap this season and are expected to be at full cap next year you'd guess at more incomings than outgoings.

Sibbit will add another body to the squad but he won't add any real quality. Like everyone else the are that concerns me is halfback, especially with Orford's increasingly likely departure.
