| Would it be wrong of me to assume that they will be doing some sort of mailshot to everyone who has pledged?
I think me and the rest of my family normally pay by post by just returning the forms we are sent.

Don't forget Kenny off Total RL has also said he's done about 20 fake pledges.

| Quote ="spidermanbull"I know someone wrote on another post the other day asking what if these pledges dont turn into people actually buying and there was a response along the lines of legal binding !!
HOWEVER ,
( and please dont get me wrong i dont want to put a downer on the whole pledge thing as i think the bulls have done great introducing this offer)
My friend goes to bradford uni and the information he gave me tonight was that the people selling the pledges as such , were just asking people to write there names down even if they never intended to purchase a season ticket just so that others were able to buy theres for the reduced rate !!
They only took a name and email address and they never signed anything, hopefully the majority of the people that did pledge were true supporters wanting to indeed buy a ticket, my only concern is that if this was the selling structure to the whole bingley music festival and bulls on the road bus then we may find we might actually be quite abit shorter than we think...'"
Don't worry mate, we'll be fine trust me.

You might well be, at least in the brain cell department, but "we" on the other hand have almost 11,000 adult pledges. Get used to it.

| Well, are the pledges legally binding?
Can Bradford Bulls haul you off to the small claims Court if you simply say, "Sorry, changed my mind!" or "I could see you were 3000 short only last week and thought I'd try and help, but I'm skint!"

I think your mate might have got a bit confused and signed up for the Uni RL team instead of pledging!
I know some of the staff that worked extremely hard in marketing the pledge and it annoys me that people find the need to publish negative information about the most positive thing that has happened at the club this year.
I know staff were really pushed at Bradford Uni as it was extremely busy but they worked their socks off as usual to make sure they didn't lose any custom. At the busiest time in the day, they did try to speed things up by taking less details and asking the customer if they could call them back for the rest of the details at a later date however, they still made sure they had the contact number and signature for the pledge and any uncompleted pledges that they couldn't get back in touch with were left to one side and not counted.
At the same time, Bulls staff were collecting names and email addresses from anyone interested in joining the Uni RL team for marketing purposes.
I can't believe that a so-called Bulls fan (if you are indeed a Bulls fan) would want to start a thread like this with no real proof other than "my mate told me". How about you spend more time congratulating the club on a successful marketing initiative and thanking the staff involved in providing us with the opportunity to buy our cheapest ever season ticket? Show some appreciation like the rest of us.
Rant over!

In all honesty, I'm more worried for people who get their kicks out of doing stuff like that. They clearly need help and a life.

Tbh all they unwittingly done is ensure all bulls supporters get cheap tickets. Price is fixed at 60 now and any fake pledges that drop out will be cancelled out by the people who waited to see if we made the 60 price point, and are now getting on board. Think club should actively pursue them just to rub salt in wound though.

I suppose someone will answer the question for you at some point. I have asked it elsewhere and got no real response. If it is legally binding, how much is it going to cost to trace and chase these people through the courts?

Pretty sure its not legally binding (just my guess mind, if people are that bothered they should ask the club not an interent forum), although the Bulls website states a plege is "ultimately a contractual obligation to purchase." I seriously doubt there'll be any pursuing through any courts, what would be the point?
The club will follow up every pledge and will have in place systems to weed out fraudulent/fake pledges (of which I suspect there are not as many as people making trouble might like us to believe), certainly as has been said, the number of people not following through on the pledge for whatever reason will probably be outnumbered by the people who have been waiting to see the outcome and who will now jump on board.

| without wanting to get too technical and boring to form a contract you must have the following things;
Agreement - you pledging for a ticket
Consideration - you will recieve a season ticket bulls will recive money
Intention to create legal relations - Is implied in the nature of the agreement
So you are in a leagaly binding contract.

| To be fair legally binding or not, proving that you were the person that signed up (especially online) is tenuous at best. Most people have multiple users on a single IP address and the "I never signed up to it it must have been my housemate, mum, dad, brother, sister, Some bloke using my wireless) would be an easy get out clause...
THAT SAID.... I seriously doubt there will be that many people dropping out and as some have suggested I would imagine that the number of extra people jumping on board will more than accomodate for them..
Personally can't wait to pickup my membership, even with working various weekend hours and Friday nights it's going to be more than worth it

I think our old 'friend' has a few guises these days - could this be one?
The people trying to get pledges were volunteers weren't they? why would they just go for the signature? any decent pay plan would have comission claw back for bad business. Like you say - beware
