Last I heard, he hadn't decided where to go next year, but there had been interest from at least one other club, which I haven't seen named on this forum yet. As well as that, I would expect Wakefield would quite like to take him after his loan spell this year.

I think we'll lose him to be honest, and I can't say I blame him. I don't think his form was particularly worthy of being left out of the team on more than one occasion that he was, and if I were in his shoes, I'd be looking elsewhere.

It be a shame to lose Halley after some very good performances this year. However he isn't the complete player yet so our offer needs to be a sensible one. But what would depress most fans is seein Halley leave and still having Platt at the club with a further 2 years to run...

I'd agree with that. I'll also add that I would like to see Halley extent his stay as he's a Bradford product who has been overall excellent for us this year in the circumstances, but I still have doubts about either Platt or Halley being the long term solution at Full Back for different reasons.

..and as for suggestions that halley will be off just because he thinks Macca took too long to pick him, so he's going to disapear in some sort of huff at the personal slight.. all after having a long run at FB with the full trust of the coach, then we dont need players like that anyway...but I'm sure thats not the case, and the "good authority", unless its Halley himself, which it wont be, is wrong. Nope. The 1 year deal before was because the club wouldn't offer decent terms on a longer deal, so Halley himself opted for just 1 year, presumably with the intention of proving himself.

Correct, which he has done - so the plan worked well for all parties involved. Pressure on Platt now to get a starting jersey back for next year. Good to have competiton for all places though.
