thats why I cant see it happening. They had no choice with LMS but clubb is still under contract and I cant see why they would voluntarily release one of their most promising homegrown players unless their financial worries are as serious as rumoured.

| Hull KR have signed Willie Mason, so forget about that rumour, not that many took it seriously.

They're welcome to him. Mick Potter demands the ultimate professionalism from his players, not sure Mason would fit that criteria.
If he comes with the right attitude he could be a huge player for Hull KR, if not he'll be an expensive waste of cap space. I wonder what he'll make of living in Hull?

I hadn't realised Mason had lived in Bradford?
I've never lived in either location. I've visited Hull plenty of times though and I've always been happy to leave. Trouble with places like Hull is you're always miles away from anywhere and there isn't a great deal there either.

| I live between both. I previously had a long held view that Hull was a pithole and the residents were morons, same as many RL fans from outside of the city do that have only ever made visits to watch rugby. Fact is neither are true in general, sure theres a few untidy places and the odd bell end. But Hull is now a growing modern city whilst still retaining its rich tradition and history. Some of the nicest people I have ever met are Hullonians. You couldnt be more wrong pal, theres lots there and loads of things to do in Hull and you're only an hour away from one of the UK's biggest cities and a short drive to one of the East Coasts many lovely seaside towns.

On the sideline recovering from injury I would have thought.

Don't work for the Hull tourist board do you? Each to their own I suppose but I've seen plenty of Hull and the surrounding areas and never thought 'ooh I'd love to be able to live here' but that's not to say it's the worse place in Britain to live either. I'm still interested to see how he adapts to life over here.

| Nahh, just a student at Hull Uni. As much as Bradford is home, Hull is so much better for me.
I think Mason will go OK in Hull, he's got his buddy O'Meley and Fitzgibbon so should settle in fine.

So it's the lesser of two evils..
Going back to your early point. Surely you can't use Hull's location as a benefit compared to Bradford. Bradford is actually next to Leeds and less than an hour to the biggest city in the North.

What? That's we'd hear about signings or big signings? I'd imagine the club expected Walker to be a player to get people excited.

| Signings so far = OK without addressing priority problems at 6 and lack of size and power in the props.
Signings so far + Thackeray would be underwhelming I feel
Signings so far + Elima would be OK but still not really mouthwatering
Signings so far + Elima + Leon Pryce would be totally awesome.
Fingers crossed

| We certainly need a big name signing, not just to put bums on seats, but if we ant to get back to the top we need a team to compete with Saints, Wigan, Warrington, who all have big name signings for next season, even Huddersfield and Hull KR have done it with O'Donnell and Mason.

| Where has this Thackeray rumour started from? Has it just been mentioned and repeated by many or is there a reliable source?
I reckon there will be more than 2 new names to come into the side. I'd like the Bulls to confirm the departures this week, I think we know some of the obvious ones but I'm interested to see if there is a 'surprise' announcement in there.

| We do not want Karl Pryce as he is a lazy rugby player.
And I'm sorry to disappoint you guys but Leon isn't coming back to Odsal, as much as it pains me to say it!

I have heard that both parties are keen for it to happen. I suspect the 1 year left on his deal would be the rather big hurdle to overcome though. Perhaps Saints would be willing to listen to an offer with the young Lomax pushing his nose into contention now.
I reckon Leon would be the sort of signing that would help us smash the 10k target. I left the forum the other month with the feeling that we would be bringing an old Bull back after listening to the panel talking about homegrown players. Perhaps I got the wrong end of the stick and they were on about retention rather than recruitment.
I guess we'll have to see, I think we could do with at least 1 biggish name if we want to hit our season ticket target though.

| Leon coming back would undoubtedly be good. It'd be even better if they'd let us have Lomax though.....
(I appreciate that wouldn't be the big name and hometown boy that would sell tickets, but what a player Lomax is going to be)

Leon want's to come back and play and like I've said he want's to be a Bull in 2011.
The only problem is agreeing the right level of compensation with St Helens over his release.
I think it's worth the risk IMO. Get Leon back at Odsal the 10k won't be a problem.
