I was sat right bang in line with it and although it pains me to say it, the ball did go forward.

| I am led to believe that Stuart Duffy stands behind Mick with a hand ready to clamp his mouth whenever the Ref makes a dubious decision! Stuart Cummings has already offered a rota list from his squad to help out!

| Mick, do you have to be Visually Impaired to listen to your dulcet tones? I wouldnt mid some commentary..
Maybe it could be an extra season ticket package, first club to offer live commentary?
And did you get the fax game yet?

Re: Silverwood.
I won't go into too much detail about the Silverthon and his 23 penalties but Jesus wept if this what we are going to be used to during the new season then expect plenty of ref bashing threads on here (not from me) because to be honest he was poor from the word go and I still can't get over that he gave Wakefield a penalty for us not playing the ball with the foot, which he then never enforced for the rest of the entire game.
Apparently over at Craven Park, Mr Childs gave 25 penalties.

Hi Phil.
Re: Halifax 26-30 Bradford (1997) DVD
The person who has the Halifax dvd is called Ian, who is one of Matt's friends (The Mat who posts on here) but he hasn't been to any of the pre-season games yet so I haven't been able to get the dvd back, but don't worry when I do I'll arrange to meet you with it.

That's an interesting idea Phil.
You don't have to be visually impaired/disabled to listen the commentary, the service is open to anyone if there is a headset available, but obviously the impaired/disabled supporters must have priority with their usage.
Another example of how this can help the visually impaired supporters is that yesterday I noticed in the first half an elderly lady sat two rows in front of the media tables struggling to make out the players, hence her use of binoculars.
At half time I phoned Gill/Richard (I wasn't squeezing past Connor and the laptps again ) to ask if there was a headset spare for her to use and luckily there was one.
For the second half she didn't touch those binoculars once and instantly knew which player had the ball, or where one of the 11 new players had played previously etc and she gave a big thumbs up to the commentary at full time.

| It'd be great if the club continued to do this free for those who need it but as a paid service for everyone else. Mick FM could be a nice little earner.

But that doesn't mean it was a forward pass. The next time you are on a train to KX doing 125 mph, jump out of the window towards the back of the train. I guarantee you will land a fair few yards south of the position you jumped from.

True. But that one was a forward pass. Easily. Sykes massively overran it and bombed an easy try. All he had to do was hang back a little, but no, he had to go full pelt and give Sibbit a choice of either taking the tackle or passing it forward and hoping to get away with it.

I think Sibbit yesterday proved to everyone that he's more than a backup player with some very hard runs and some crunching tackles in defence.
He has to be in the 17 for the game vs Leeds.

Looked an absolute mile forward to me. Was sat with Rickflynn and both of us instantly groaned/sighed/cursed at the same time, as soon as the pass left and before any referee signal.

No, you could tune into the Sky (or BBC for the 4 Nations) commentary too. I had one for the last time the 4 Nations was over here and listened to the commentary all the way through each game.

I was probably sat on the floor of a 3 foot x 2 foot cupbaord trying to wire an outside light into an existing power socket. Where I spent most of the afternoon. My daughter's learned a few new words.

if you've run out of words let me know - I can lend you a few of my own, regarding for example - useless dungheap pathetic bandit scumbag British Gas and the boiler from hell... and that reminds me about that outside light that has not worked for years that I must get round to finding out what the wiring fault is

| in notes under section 10 knock on and forward pass in the referee`s handbook ...Rugby League laws of the game says
direction of pass.... the direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but because of the throwers own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high lobbed pass

Indeed. The famed "momentum rule" (and not the one Stevo thinks it is).
However Sibbit's pass to Sykes was less "momentum" and more "miles bloody forward"

I've only ever bought one and that was the 19-18 2002 Grand Final loss to St Helens where after the famous Gerry "I've got a minute to press a button" Kershaw no try decision, Russell Smith asked him "are you sure Gerry".

| I have some good news for you all in that Radio Royal incorporating St Lukes Sound (both stations are going to be amalgamated into one super station) will be broadcasting all shows over the internet (for those not at the home or away games you'll be able to take in Visually Impaired/Hospital Radio Commentary if you wish) in the coming weeks and plans are in the pipeline to go onto AM/FM frequency if the station can unlock £30,000 worth of funding from the National Lottery.
