But I would like to think that we have got the 10k already and the club are just updating drip by drip to make it look like we haven't in the hope of getting more people to pledge.

Last time folk on here started on this tack of "they must be holding back pledges" or delays in the count, I had a very peeved Margaret from the ticket office asking me to assure everyone that the counting is always up to date. I also had an assurance fairly recently from the CEO that the published count is complete and accurate, and we had a discussion about how the pledge count was progressing relative to expectations.

I have no reason to believe the published count is not substantially accurate, to be honest.

City's initial scheme was if 10,000 people paid £138 for a ticket then they would get 2 for the price of 1, in the end they fell a few hundred short of this (9,400 IIRC), kept the season tickets at £138, but the free one wasn't offered - that season City ended up with 12,000+ season ticket holders - no doubt plenty didn't sign up in the hope that they would be able to get hold of a "free" one from someone who had, or they went halves with someone else in the hope of getting a free one between them.

That isn't going to happen whilst he has a keyboard and a pulse.

Does anyone know if the bulls respond to every pledge. I did mine on the first day but haven't had an acknowledgement yet.

There was a problem if you pledged in the first day or two via the website. The automated response system failed. The Bulls have put out a statement though that anyone who did it through the website in the first two days, their pledge has been received and no need to worry.

If what you write is true, and I've no reason to believe it isn't, the fact that fans who were associated with your club in its glory years aren't renewing may be a good thing as it suggests a fair number of those pledging may instead be newbies. If so, their expectations are less likely to be driven by previous successes and they may be less likely to become frustrated if initial results aren't spectacular which should in turn give the team time to develop.

My Dad used to go with six others, only two out of that party now and we are talking die hard Northern supporters who have been week in week out for years.

Even with the £60 season pass offer they won't come back because of the terminal damage done during the McNamara years.

actually if read the statement on web site properly then the counter isnt going to be removed until the weekend prior to the announcement i.e. next weekend. so it should still be there all next week.

It could read as that but I'd read it as being removed THIS weekend. I'm afraid I'm still not entirely clear why. Anyone want to explain further?

maybe. guess we'll find out if its still there monday. as to why I'd guess to try and build some kind of buzz and make the people holding off till last minute to commit.

I would read this that we are getting £60 season tickets whatever the final pledge total. it would seem a little silly to announce an event with fireworks to then say "sorry we did not reach the 10k"!

Perfect time to launch a shirt I would have thought.

Personally, and this is my own opinion, and not what I've been told.. but I think we've hit the 10k. It would be stupid to have an event and not hit the target.
