I'm thinking it will be Jamie Foster on loan. Think he and Lulia would work well together. Lulia's fend and offload and Foster's ability to finish tries close to the line could serve us well next season. Look at how many tries Crookes got thanks to Lulia.

If we sign Foster, and Purts is given the all clear, our first choice backline should be:

I'd imagine that there's very few players of substance who aren't already signed up with other clubs.
With the club being saved so late in the day that has to be expected.

So pretty much any player we get in will most likely be a loan signing, an up and coming young lad from a top side who's own club are at the edge as far as the salary cap is concerned and need to get some ease on the purse strings by farming out a couple of fringe players on loan deals or else young lads who need SL exposure which they won't get playing in their club's reserve team unless there's some serious injuries.

FC is in for a tough first season. No doubt the usual doom mongers on here will start sharpening their knives as soon as the first game of next season kicks off. But really, the club needs the fans to take off the rose coloured glasses and accept that, short of having Jesus Christ Himself as head coach (and that's not likely cos I've heard he's a union man) we'll be lucky to make the 10th spot.

michael platt to salford and the bulls are supposed to be getting one of the salford players in return and my guess is adam sidlow because he has rumoured to been in talks with us but thats all i know at the moment.

He fits the profile of what we need in terms of experience and size, should be good for 2000+ metres a season etc

I agree with sidlow but if we are not signing more than one winger can't see us letting Platt go as he can play wing and full back as well as centre.

To be honest I would take Adam Sidlow on a permanent deal and try sign 1 or 2 of these on loan:

Ben Flower

or even take a punt on Romaric Bemba.

I think most sensible fans see our position and would be happy with a combination of loan signings like Ben Evans, 'projects' who don't have much SL experience like Adam Walker or a player from the Championship, naughty boys like Mason and even journey men like Netherton. I'd count Sidlow as a decent signing in any event. The fear at this stage is that FC rocks up in February with 23/24 senior players with 3 props (including Scruton) plus Langley and McAvoy.

Given that he has the full salary cap and has chosen to dispense with Pryce, Ainscough, Joseph and Southernwood along with refusing to meet Fielden's wage demands (decisions which were all his to make) he is potentially running at extreme risk to fortune. There's still time but comments about running a 'leaner squad' don't encourage, particularly as we have no under 20s.

Well he was on my list

he was, and hes now on my original post preview squad list

and even with contracts for McAvoy Donaldson and another prop we are short of 25 squad members, so another winger still a possibility, more so if Platt is px'd for Sidlow.

Hope thats his shirt flapping and not his gut!

I asked the question on the Wolves site how they rated Ben Evans. one said he had missed a bit through injury over the past couple of seasons. Another that a bit further down the track they expected him to be an intergral part of their first seventeen, plus if we had signed him on a 3/4 year deal it would prove to be one of our best signings for some time. So could be FC has unearthed a gem for twelve months or so, then lets see what happens.

Given that there's next to nobody decent around that's OOC this looks like a good signing to me.
