| I must admit I'm puzzled why anyone would actually want the England job to be honest unless they were struggling for employment. I think the quality of the rumoured candidates probably says it all. If the names were correct, I can see why they might offer it to McNamara.
I'm with Paul, we almost certainly should be looking to the NRL for our new coach. I can't think of any Brit coaches available or likely to be available to deliver Hood's aims of top 4 finishes.

Apparently he's building a good relationship with Robbie Paul over at Leigh.
Could be an interesting coaching team in the making for us there.

| I would never want Millward at Bradford, just don't think he's the right man for the club. Whats Matthew Elliot doing these days, still at Penrith?

To right! the available list is in no particular order. Paul Cullen Bobby Goulding Andy Kelly, Steve Sims could be tempted from Salford!
There ain't no one out there at present who I would like to see at the Club if Macca did move on prematurely

| From the article in the T&A, I'd be surprised if this was true.
However, I will be disgusted if McDermott is the replacement. If it does happen, we should be looking to the NRL for a replacement

My fax supporting mate at work said something similar the other day actually - that he'd be surprised if the Bulls didn't come in for him if Macca went.

No thanks
Blotto lists a number of available coaches but there are established NRL coaches available that are looking for head coach positions

| If we went for mcdermott as a long term replacement then I wouldnt be happy as he isnt an improvement on macca and is probably a bit worse. However if it was an appointment till the end of the season until a quality coach is brought in then it might make sense and would be an improvement over letting st hilaire take charge. Can only imagine the delay in making an announcement is to allow bradford to get a replacement in place assuming macca is going.

| Hood makes a statement in today's League Express about it. Apparently the board are intending to discuss his future this month as has always been planned. He goes on to say he see Macca at the top of his game and he is hungry for success at club level and that he would hope that he wants to remain and Bradford to achieve it.

| If the Bulls were that keen on keeping him surely they would have had him tied up with a new contract by now? If he has been interviewed for the England job then surely he Macca see;s his future away from Bradford? Why would McDermott leave Harlequins for half a season?
I'd be happy to see Jimmy Lowes back as head coach till the end of the season should McNammara take the job and if he does well to offer him a longer deal. Failing that lets have Brian Noble back next season!

| I'd be surprised if the rfl offered macca the england job, shurely the should be getting the best man for the job regardless of his nationallity. Imo there are better coaches out of work down under. I think macca has potential to become a good coach but i think he needs a motivating no2 to work along side him, as i see that as a weakness in his make up.
As for the Bulls we need an experienced aussie coach, with a younger british no2 working along side him ( not st hilaire), as someone said calland would be a good shout, ex bull serving an apprenticeship in the lower grade.

| Listening to what Hood has to say, it sounds like he is keen to give him a new Bulls deal. I'd like to see how this season goes in the next couple of months personally. I think we have made a pretty decent start but not sure it is worthy of a new deal just yet.

my worry would be that we'll feel rushed into giving macca a new deal to stop him taking england job, when I dont feel at this stage of the season he's done quite enough to warrant it. We have started well and their are a lot of positive signs but I'd like to see a little more before committing to a new deal tbh.

| Why would Macca want the England job? He now has a chance to start showing that he is a quality coach after a tough few seasons the majority of problems he had to deal with were not of his own making. Hood also from his side of things has also come through a tough period again for the same reasons. Macca now has a resonably stable platform to work from for the first time and he knows he has to get better results this time round, the contract talks are coming at the wrong time, both parties should agree to defer them till the end of the season

| If we are to get back to the top again, we need a new coach with experiance. Ever since McNamara took over we have gone down hill each year. It doesnt matter about the finnances of the club its McNamara's team and he has built it. I cant understand how people can say McNamara is one of the best young coaches around, he is not cout out for the job and should do the same thing as Stuart McCall did at City and walk. Personally i dont think we are able to match any of the top team this year, certainly Wigan, Saints, Leeds, Warrington and Hudds. People defend McNamara saying he has to work on a low budget, but look at John Kear, he must have one of the smallest budgets in the league, has to recruit from the National leagues, yet he still guides his team to the play off's. If the rfl are daft enough to give Macca the England job then so be it, but Bradford certainly need a new coach to take us back to the top.

| If he could take the England job and still go and work down under with Brian Smith for part of the year it would be a win/win situation all round.
He gets an insight into the way things are done in a superior environment working with a good coach, and he can bring that back and hopefully use it to have a positive impact on the national side.
The effect that Nathan Brown has had on an average Huddersfield and the improvement that Michael Maguire has had to date on the Wigan side would indicate that we are someway behind on the coaching side of things.
