Very much so.
The way I read the T & A article is that there has been plenty of interest and the club is waiting for the application forms/cvs to roll in.

Agreed! They make false odds to suite their Book. Does not represent the actual betting patern, and cetainly not the true possibilty of an appointment.

| Powell ! you must be joking, I wont enter the discussion of what he's done.
Where is he now? and whats his current experience relevant to be a SL coach.
A non-runner where no odds would entice my bet.
Remember the bollox where Leeds said he was to be released as coach to do some wondefull stuff around the world gathering coaching info? Yea.. it was a sod off.

Wrong (well, partly). Leeds finished 2nd in the league in 2003 with Powell in charge. Wigan knocked us out of the play-offs at HQ that season. So he's already achieved more than McNamara at the least.

As Exeter says.
Kearney has not been a head coach of a club. Only Noble & Millward have achieved more. I never said he was any good. Actually though, I do think he is.

Does surprise me a bit. Saints were absolutely scintillating at MM. That with an unrecognisable back line as well.

| With Leigh bringing around 1700/2000 and even after the dross that was the Crusaders 19-0 Bradford game, I expect at least 4000 to turn out wearing Bulls colours.
I'll say anything under 5500 would be a shock.
I expect around 6300/6400 come kick-off on Friday (if the weather is with us)

| Think you might be getting carried away with the Leigh following 7 coaches sounds good, but in reality it's only 350 fans, I'd be surprised if numbers hit 1000.

Bear in mind though that when we played Keighley earlier in the season we only had one coach and a minibus and had 600+ there - a large proportion of our support tend to travel by car (similarly 800+ at Halifax with two coaches and a minibus).

| There seriously is zero chance of anything like 1200 Leythers, fine and keen supporters though they certainly are. If we get 750 or so then that is a great credit to them. I always reckon if you guess double the capacity of booked coaches then you won't be that far wrong in any game.
It is the Cup, notorious for poor paying attendances, and Leigh are no exception to the rule. Last year they went to Wakey and the attendance was 2,637 so don't try to kid anyone that anything like 1200 would travel for a Cup game. In recent years they struggled to even get 4000 at home for Cup games v. Warrington, and Leeds, each of whom would have had a reasonable following within that. Mind you, we should at least beat the 3,349 we got at VP for the cup match v. Leigh in 1991. I can't see much over 5K meself.
As i've said many times, I just have a feeling that Menzies could be the next Wayne Bennett in years to come, he just seems to have that something about him and is so highly respected worldwide. I wish he would get the job - in any capacity. It isn't really a job for a rookie but there are always exceptions and I would heartily applaud us if we gave Menzies a chance. Has he got the necessary badges?

| Now then.
This little interesting snippet is part of a wider interview with Lee St. Hilaire in the T&A:
"I also know my way around the Super League, which I hope could benefit Bradford Bulls and the new man that’s coming in.”
Now is it just me, or does that sort of suggest Lee is working on the basis that Macca's successor will come from down under, and is not currently (or has not in the past been) involved in SL?

Possibly, and if we're reading between the lines it sounds like someone might have been identified as the next head coach.
Before the assistant coach at Hull left I'd have put money on us going for McDermott. Now I wouldn't be surprised to see someone team up with Menzies, possibly Moore from Hull or someone else.
I'd say that it'll be either McDermott or a combo of Menzies and someone else. I'm sure it won't be a big name like Bellamy or Hagan much as I'd love to be proved wrong.

| Forget Menzies whatever you think, he will still only be a junior member of the Coaching staff, that is if thats what he decides to do and he may yet do one more season and perhaps like Morro did during his lenghty injuries, start learning the basics that way, before doing his courses and getting accreditations.
If the Club can get a an Aussie either one already an NRL Head Coach or an Assistant Coach ready to step up, but able to demonstrate a willingness to continue what Macca has started (inc Medders and Co) with the Academy and also attract top quality (not neccessarily headline names) players to the Club. That will be a fillip for the Fans and show that the Bulls are on their way out their of dip of recent times!
