If their respective clubs had given the players permission to speak to other clubs, and have given the Bulls permission to announce the signing before the deadline. This is why Salford were allowed to announce Chris Nero.

Yep, I understand how it works, but if the rumours regarding Meli are to be believed, then Saints supposedly offered him a 1 season extension. Why would they do this [iand[/i give him permission to look elsewhere?

Because he wanted a two year extension maybe? So was allowed to talk to other clubs?

Nero was offered an extension at Bradford and turned it down (as was reported when it was announced he was leaving). And yet they allowed him to talk to Salford and allowed them to announce the signing.

| I would love it if we got Fielden back, although it looks like he could be on his way to Hull. Scruton, Lynch, Fielden and Kopzcak would be a good front row fron next season. He has been playing very well of late.

I wouldn't take Fielden back. Lost it, and seemingly will never regain the form he had in his first stint at the Bulls. No doubt he would demand a similar high wage he is on at Wigan too, which again would be a waste.

If Wigan and all the other clubs are concentrating on getting their team with the required number of homegrown players, people like Fielden might find that the best place for them (and the team that values them the highest) is the one that they came up through the ranks of.
Also he's not played anywhere nearly as well as when he played for us so I don't think it would be that high

Correct.
He couldn't command anywhere near his megabucks he's on now, as long as he's on a cheap enough deal to suit the club i'd take him back like a shot.
We'd just be one prop short of another awesome foursome (not as good, i'll admit but still not shabby!) lets just hope Koppy can push on from his late form.

Word is that he doesn't feature in Potter's plans, only what i've been told though.

| I genuinely hope the Bulls move forward next year. Potter seems a reasonable coach and it looks as though you're making some interesting signings - albeit not star names. I'd expect to see an improvement next year and beyond.

| If the rumours about Fielden to Hull are true, I hope he does well.
It will help him to have big dominating forwards around him too.

think we can probably negotiate an early release under rule we used for kohe-love/tupou although im not sure how him returning to training, albeit sporadically, affects that. Dont think he can say club ahvent stood by him so expect an amicable release tbh.

| we shouldnt be looking at dowes if fielden is available........i think he wouild rather head back to us than fc as he still has a buisness in bradford or something ?
would be great to see him reach the heights that he did in a bulls shirt (unlikley but near to his best ) again

suppose it depends on finances. even though fielden will be taking a pay cut I'd be surprised if he still wasnt significantly more expensive than dowes. rather than pay over odds for a prop potter may feel money is better spent on other areas like halves/. We need to see all our signings and balance of squad before we can really judge any one deal.

finance wise yes fielden would be on a fair chunk more than dowes
they are both similar ages so a two year deal for either one of them would be good but i personally would preffer fielden
although i have a feeling he wont come back cause he wont be able to live upto what he did in a bulls shirt

No he is'nt he is out of contract in Novemeber. He has been in very average form of late and Hull have offerd him a contract but with a pay cut. Like they have Radford both seem destined to be on their way out with possibly Fielden coming in. Hope that helps!
