Think your being a bit disrespectful to championship tbh. Chris hill seems to have made step up successfully. There's a few others around who could step up a level and do a job. Would be mainly as a bench player anyway with scruton and Nas being starting props and hopefully mcavoy being retained and forcing his way into contention.
We are weak in forwards at moment without a doubt. Just don't see point in weakening another area of team to address it. Also bearing in mind we may be centre down anyway depending on what happens with Purtell. Which would also free up a quota spot.

I'd assume that to be true but just because Donno (for instance) hasn't been announced doesn't [inecessarily[/i mean he hasn't signed and will be announced in the usual drip-feed manner we get up to the 'early-bird' end date. Or am I being overly hopeful?

We can hope but think it would leak out pretty quickly now lads are back in. Seem to remember pryces training stats being up on wall last year before he officially signed so there's maybe some leeway for unsigned players to train per- signing - maybe at their own risk?.

Well yeah, there have been cases (certainly in the old days) of players who have gone on to pastures new but continue to train with their former club and we've had cases of Aussies coming over after the new year but who have done some fitness work at their old club before flying over, so maybe there is a way round the insurance problem. As for the lads being back in, well absolutely, Twitter and Facebook rule; it must be a nightmare for press guys at clubs these days.

Jamie Foster was used as a scapegoat for Saints' early season problems. The dreadful game he had against us was probably his fault, being responsible for both of our tries, missing both his goal kicks, and getting sin binned.

He has a good ability to finish tries near the line and is a great kicker.

Also, we need wingers now, now that Crookes, Pryce and Ainscough have left. We used all 4 wingers last season, and even Platt was used on the wing.

No they weren't. He will be better than Ainscough though.

I hope we do sign Foster, and I think he is a better player than Ainscough.
