Hands up all those that are surprised. Hello? Any hands?
And before anyone says it, yes I know it says appointed, not announced. And I know the snow has caused the event to be cancelled which was out of their hands. But still, they say "by this date" and it doesn't happen. AGAIN.'"
I just hope that they don't try to keep an appointment (that might have been made yesterday) under wraps until next Sunday. It's bound to leak out, and will end up just coming off as (another?) amateurish botch up when it finally, FINALLY, gets 'announced'.

| EXCLUSIVE! From the open fly on the wall an extract of Andrew Chalmers talking to Stuart Duffy about the Coaching appointment!..............
AC: “Well Stuart I gather you’ve made a decision on who will be the Bulls new Coach!”
SD: “Yes Boss and the name will surprise you!”
AC: “Well who is the surprise then?”
SD: “It’s me Boss!”
AC: “Bloody Hell Stu, you have no coaching experience so what can you offer?”
SD: “Well Boss I’ve been at this Club through umpteen Coaches’ and I’ve picked the best of their techniques and it should be a doddle!”
AC: “But Stuart you still don’t have any coaching experience!”
SD: “Not a problem Boss all the other Coaches’ had “experience” but it didn’t get the Club anywhere look where we are now and it will save the Club money in a couple of key areas!”
AC: “Ok now you’ve got my interest keep talking!”
SD: “Firstly I’ll combine the Coaches’ job with my present job as Stadium Manager so you only need to pay me one salary that being the Coach’s one, secondly as Stadium Manager it’s my job to get the Stadium presentable for match days and cleaned up afterwards, well as Coach I can get the Players not picked in the 18 to help with that as part of their training and it will encourage them to train better to get into the 18 and it will save on part time labour!‘’
AC: “That is certainly an interesting and original proposition Stuart, I will need to talk to Graham but I’ll have to make sure he has his heart medication handy first but I’m sure he will agree!”
SD: “Thanks Boss you won’t regret it, just one more thing!”
AC: “What’s that Bro?”
SD: “Can I have a new track suit for the job?”
AC: “Sure Bro no problem off you go then, I have an important phone call to make!”
SD: “Thanks Boss!”
The sound of SD leaving, but heard muttering “I’ll show the s on that Forum!!”
This was sent to me by Zipper whose real name cannot be revealed!

| From league express preview
We’ll reveal the frontrunner – and indeed the preferred choice of the board – to become the new coach at Bradford Bulls. It’s a bit of a surprise – and a name certainly not mentioned up until now..

| Like I said, did not see that coming!
Don't worry Bullseye, it's not a terrible choice - suspect Greenwood will be his Assistant

| The new coach is probably Chalmers himself. But since we know his communication leaves something to be desired, all training sessions will be taken by Super Coach Leigh Beattie.

| Wasn't in League Express that first broke the Jon Sharp story? Presumably they're going to say a different name this time, since otherwise it would have been mentioned. So I would suggest maybe not the best source in the world if they've said two nailed on frontrunners.

| Just got the online version of League Express. They're reporting Bulls are targeting John Kear and discussions still ongoing, so wouldn't have announced new coach today even if the event had gone ahead.

| League express says certain candidates pulled out last week and Bulls turned to Kear, hence the delay.

| Putting my money down now. Negotiations with John Kear will fall through when he realises they're suggesting to pay him in Bulls scratch cards. They'll then appoint Jon Sharp.

| Its like Christmas 2016 all over again - but instead of rumours and last minute "pull-outs" by wannabe buyers its not the same farce with the coach.
Next thing you know the RFL will step in to "help" and we'll end up with a southern hemisphere ex-player out of nowhere; but he can only accept the job if he passes certain RFL criteria - but they havent decided what criteria yet - they'll leave that until we've started playing.
The club should change its name to Bradford Farce.
THat aside - I'd be happy with Kear - but I fully expect it to be a different John Kear from the land of Oz

| It's nothing like xmas 2016. bulls for whatever reason have approached a proven coach most people seem delighted to have got. Some people just like to moan FFS

| I would be delighted if we'd got Kear, absolutely amazed in fact
It certainly would be interested to learn why other people 'pulled out' though. What did they find out? Lack of money for signings? Changes in ownership? Future restructuring?
All seems a bit odd - but then this is the Bradford Bulls after all

| Kear as Director of Rugby (or whatever) always seemed a strange fit for him at Wakefield to me. He seems to relish the hands on part of coaching and whenever you see him on Sky he looks to be itching to get more involved but can't because Chester is "the main man" Perhaps he just wants to be more involved and fancies one last challenge. Would be happy with Kear.

| I'd certainly be happy with Kear but I'm very cautious of getting too excited. It could very easily come to nothing.

Exactly where I am. If it turns out to be true, it's an excellent choice. But we've had far too many years of getting hopes up over Christmas presents and then getting a lump of coal.

Now that explains a few things about you!
I think Kear realised he'd lost his motivation mojo at the RLWC due to him not having the hands on Coaching he was used to! So perhaps he's looking to rediscover it while taking the Bulls upwards in terms of promotion for the next couple of seasons!
If it comes down to a choice between Baloo and Norris I'd go for Norris as he has the necessary to take us upwards!

| Damn! I hope this rumour is wrong. If it turns out to be correct then, if I indulged in gambling, I would put a shilling on you lot being promoted next year. Bugger!
