Ok I must have gotten the Odsal sale situation completely wrong then. When all that business was in the papers I was under the impression that THEY had given US a cash injection, which we were paying them back over x years.

Now you're telling me we didn't get a penny from them at all and that it was to repay a previous debt?

We managed to sell our stadium then still be in desperate need of supporter bail out cash at fax. I remember seeing a good number of Bulls fans down our ground helping out and I hope you find a way out of this. As much as I'd love fax and bulls having regular Derby games in the league, I'd much rather it was super league

This certainly gave me a shock this morning. Is it possible this is posturing and game-playing with HMRC or other creditors? A bit of brinkmanship perhaps, or is the situation really that bad?

If things really are that bad, the questions relating to how they got that way are almost too many to think about at this point.

For me, inter-club rivalry belongs on the pitch, and at times like this I can only feel for you lot, but also that the people running your club have let the sport as well as the club down. I hope the Bulls are able to pull through this, for the sake of the fans first and the sport second.

You will all have all seen the "Bulls Quest for Success" this morning but what's it all about?! Here's our FAQ's



So, how does it work?

The club needs to raise £500 000 by 5pm Friday the 6th of April. We need you to pledge to donate towards the Bulls quest for survival.

Do not send us any money at this stage. When we make the £500 000 target you will be required to make payment immediately. You will be able to make your payment via the phone, online, at the ticket office or by cheque.

What if we don't reach our target of £500,000?

We are confident that with the support of yourself and others that this is achievable. Everyone at the club will continue to do everything we can for as long as we can and will leave no stone unturned in securing a future for Bradford Bulls.

Why are we in this situation?

We have been battling serious financial difficulties for many years and unlike the majority of other Super League clubs we have no wealthy benefactor. Every penny of income comes from the hard work of the team at Odsal and the dedication and unrelenting support of people like you.

Recent changes to our banking situation has impacted heavily on our immediate cash flow plans.

What about us selling the stadium to the RFL?

The RFL stadium deal only enabled us to address our long term liabilities but could not help us stave off the current cash flow problems we find ourselves in.

So is there any good news?!!

Well Yes actually! If we achieve our targets and get through this short term period of uncertainty the club can move forward debt free and deliver our long term business plan which is sustainable. This is a major feat for any business but particularly in the sports industry where we are were not the only ones experiencing a turbulent environment.

Judging by reactions from Bradford fans it seems to come out of the blue? Which then lends itself to certain questions.

I am not a Bradford fan, but like Wakefield i dont want to see any RL team forced to fold, let alone the embarrasment of having to fold mid season! Bradford were the kings of SL not so long ago, far too much history for this to happen.

Asking the fans to bail them out really is poor. What do you get for your £100? I am sorry, but id want something in return, a % share? id be giving MORE money to the club...for what? For my club i buy my pass, merchandise, club lottery etc, for more money id want either something on record so that the next season pass i buy i get my £100 off? But having read someone has bought one and has 3 1/2 years left! where is that money and what do they get!? 2 free shirts next season?? (presuming there is a next season?) To find that amount of cash in that short a time cant surely have been a decision given yesterday??

Whilst im sure your happy the club have commented, its not really that informative apart from them asking for your money.

I hope you do pull through! going into admin though didnt do Wakey too much harm, they have been able to rebuild with a clean slate.

The board should call an extraordinary general meeting and resign. The sooner the club go into administration the sooner we are protected from creditors, the sooner a buyer can do a deal with the administrator and the less chance of the adminstrator selling the players. This would give the club a stay of execution. It's a disaster but nothing to what could genuinely happen. The chances of the RFL not giving the new board a franchise is precisley zero.

For a board member to stay in post stating that if we don't get £500 000 by April 6th we are bankrupt and there is no club is Russian roulette. It smacks of clinging onto a position at the dire risk of the club not existing. It's disgusting quite frankly.

Rather than begging fans for donations, I would be happy for them to make the Leeds home game all ticket only. No season tickets. £20 a ticket with no concessions and ask fans to turn up to support the club as possible last game at Odsal. 20k loyal fans = £400k

Is be happy to pay to see it.

The only even vaguely good thing about that Bulls release I copyed, is that it is just a pledge, so if the club goes pop anyway you won't be out of pocket. The only way you're out of pocket is if the club succeed in raising the cash they need.

My concern would be that I have no confidence that this would be the end of it. We could be back here again in six months even if we do raise the 500k. What happens over the coming winter when there is no cash flow? Do we actually have robust plans in place?

That said, I have pledged my £100, it might be a long shot, but I see no alternative. Wait for saviour? Don't think so, hope the club gets reformed out of administration? An equally long shot. Do nothing and just sit and whinge? Tempting but not ing likely.

Except...1/6 of that would go in VAT.

And I suspect it would be a very big ask for some families.

But the concept may have legs.

Not just Fax's application but the 5 teams in Superleague who were awarded a Grade C license. Infact it just shows what a farce the Superleague licensing system is.

I do feel sorry for the fans who are being asked to fork out their hard earned cash. If I were a Bradford Bulls fan I would not trust any of the Bulls board as far as I could throw them.
