In terms of 'rebranding', why not go for real tradition? If the reformed club wants to demonstrate that it is returning to basics it could do worse than adopt a name associated with the original heritage of Bradford rugby = Bradford FC. At the same time it could revive the classic white strip of Bradford FC with red, amber and black band as later worn by Bradford Northern.

With Fax fans just about anything will rile us up, I mean most our fans were up in arms that the club was making cut backs to avoid a situation like Bradford's.

Fsck the name, start with an actual club. You know, some form of finance in place that allows anything to happen in the first place; then players, an academy, coach, place to play, shiit like that.

Names are free. Anyone talking names, as the players dissipate amongst other clubs and as the cream of our juniors is in danger of disappearing I would view as an utter knob.

If you mean the bidders then I agree completely. They should be focused on building a club and signing the players, attracting sponsors etc. However we on this board can do nothing about that. However we can, if we see fit, to discuss the name of the new club.

Yes, I can see the club selling lots of model 'Northerns', and obviously, 'Northern dolls' should sell well too, the youngsters will lap them up. We could have a competition to decide what the mascot should look like..

To be serious, if the Bulls' monicker is irrevocably broken now, and it clearly has quite a bit of baggage attached, then a totally new name is a fair point - but it needs to be a name with a bit more marketing potential and pizazz than a compass direction, despite the historic links.

Northern is big part of my past, but it should stay there, imo.

While I think we need to keep the BULLS brand alive, if we do need to change it an alternative might be Phoenix. We do seem to keep going down in flames then coming back.

Yorkshire Bulls; Yorkshire Phoenix; Yorkshire Aardvarks; Yorkshire Sloths;

Northern Hemisphere Bulls in case any other RL clubs go into liquidation and fans want to "switch their allegiance"

perhaps not; I don't think many these days would remember the 'Steam Pigs' name as it related to long gone machinery and, though it was was always meant in a humourous and kindly way by fans, was always really a pejorative. Buffaloes has the same alliterative value as Bulls but is probably even more irrelevant to the city than Bulls, since there is, at least, the odd farm withing the city boundary. It would though, probably get shortened to Buffs, and then we'd be linked in with people with funny handshakes and other fans would expect us to turn up to games with one trouser leg rolled up - or some such!

We took some stick about Bulls until it took off in a big way, so whilst not totally adverse to a new name, and assuming the name and logo is in the hands of the new owner, I still wouldn't change what remains a very well known brand. I think people, unaffected people that is, amongst the wider public, will have short memories of our woes.

There is also the small matter of another nearby club having risen from the ashes with the nam Buffaloes.
