| Quote ="debbier"if this was a normal business, well you would have gone bust and honestly only the employees and their family and friends would have cared, but it's not, but it still should be treated as a business going forward with a five year then ten year plan slowly building good foundations, your youth setup is your 'crown jewel' let that go at your peril, all supporters want success, but i honestly believe for you to get back to where you belong will be a long journey minimum five years, but without your youth setup, it really will be a distant dream and doomed to failure over the long term, Saints Wigan Leeds to an extent are all reaping the rewards for ploughing in money to their youth setups.'"
Saints , Wigan and Leeds can retain their products , Bradford couldn't retain them when they were in SL , they certainly won't be able to retain them in the Championship or C1
Seriously an academy is pointless outside SL to any club , especially one that is essentially ' potless '

| Quote ="Ferocious Aardvark"Yes, he's on Nil. Not been paid since November. Looks like the youth setup has already gone, and losing that "to focus funds on the first team" would be about the maddest idea yet, and the one thing above all else that every remaining Bradford fan would not have wanted.
Yes, a new business can't get any.
that is nuts, with respect. How does eking out "short term survival" ever achieve anything? Why would a team that "short term survived" (how??) for a season or two suddenly become more able to look to the longer term future? If it doesn't work from Day 1 it sure won't get any better on Day 2.'"
I think what Danny was saying is maybe we concentrate all available funding it to making sure we survive in the championship this season. A £100,00 on the academy may be better spend on trying to survive in the championship and then build from there. I'm the biggest advocate of the academy But we've put hundreds of thousands of pounds into the juniors only for other clubs to now benefit. Also i don't think we'll be able to field an academy this year. You've also got to remember it will now take years to gain back the trust of parents when trying to sign junior players. I'd like to see a few academy players as part of our squad though. Hopefully some will. First we need a squad and then see what's left over.
Lamb doesn't flll me with any confidence but one man that does is Damian Irvine. The Cronulla fans worship him and many appointed their GF victory to what he did in their bad times.

| Right after reading what feels like 100s and 100s of posts, there's something I'm not quite clear on....
what EXACTLY has been liquidated? Is it the holding company AND the club (since the club - with its name, logo, branding etc is a separate distinguishable entity) or is it just the holding company?
Are we now awaiting the creation of a brand new club, with a new name, logo and branding - or are we just waiting for a new holding company to come along and continue with the existing club name, logo and branding?

| FA I'm starting to understand you and feel sorry for how you feel genuinely, however the vision you have isn't realistic, times have sadly changed for the Bulls. They are no more and the new club will be different, most team have ditched youth set ups other than the "big" team as developing players at a cost who leave is a wasted overhead.
GUBRATS makes this point correctly. Support the new club back what they are and lesson your expectations. 3 years without admin would be a great start with at team still to support.

It was a neat move by the RFL because, as it occurred shortly before the club went into one of the previous admins, they could have lost the loan money in the admin. In fact, the RFL doing that was one one of the principal reasons they went into admin. I don't know how we've coped with all this 'help'. Oh, hang on, we didn't....

Different to season ticket money
ST money goes directly to the club, you have no say how that is spent.
Get people to subscribe to bisa and generate enough money for the club and that give you a say how it's spent, it's the fans money not the clubs

| Quote ="Dannyboywt"Short term survival and then you can steady the ship is better than run a youth academy and go bust. It's said a youth set up cost about 200k per year. Richard Lamb seem to share the view that a competitive first team is the starting point.
You need to cut whatever you can. So instead of dissecting each persons points saying how terrible they are what do you suggest the model should look like with very limited funds?
'"
There isn't one. My own totally pessimistic view is that what we've heard so far will not produce any setup even remotely worthy of the Bulls name. In the absence of an owner willing and able to put in substantial money, my own view is that the whole thing is dead in the water, at least as a recognizable Bradford club.
It seems to me that what few hints are emerging as to what lamb or whoever may have in mind will be something completely different, and it seems to me that that something will be committing suicide by taking the directive to start in the Championship.
Nothing has changed. If you want a Bulls-style big city team, then you always did, and always will, need a big money backer. What is being proposed amounts to nothing, it would leave the club that used to be Bradford in a much, much worse place than the club that used to once be the mighty Bradford Park Avenue. Same name, but no point. And they (allegedly) DO have a man with money involved.

| I’ll say it again. Who is the money man behind the hot air spouted by the likes of Lamb and Irvine? As individuals they don’t have the money. No club will survive the season without a pile of cash. As for being profitable that’s just ridiculous. At Odsal it’s impossible.
As for getting behind a team of whipping boy rabble in order to save the RFL embarrassment for not buggering up the fixtures well Nigel can shove that up his enormous flabby backside.

So we need to create the fans organisation as well as a club within the next month, have the new owners adhere to it and pay more money than we otherwise would on the off chance this time it won't fall apart. And it'll work because mumble mumble mumble oversight!
I don't mean to sound dismissive mate. I know you mean well. But there's a whole bunch of hand waving going on there.

Then I'd suggest now is the right time to get it started again , do that and I'll chuck a tenner in , not much I know but if you can get something going its a start
I was formerly on the BOD at Leigh ( 2002/2006 ) , I left when no longer in a position to support the club , my wife then took over as LISA secretary , so I got less involved , she got more involved
Recently membership has dropped of ( although we did see a jump in 2011 ish when the crap hit the fan ) and the club and committee have talked about ways of increasing the members , but basically a club only sees a rise when the club is in crisis
I'd say currently you are in crisis , now would be a good time IMO

Whoever gets the nod from the RFL creates the club , I'd suggest Nigel already knows who that will be
You the fans create the supporters organisation , and you only give the money as you see fit , there will be disputes , always is , but now is the time

No appetite for the fans to run the club is there.
Am I right in saying if lamb & Co get the club, they've already stated they're going to ask the fans to get involved? If that is the case then surely all they're going to do is ask you for more money.
Test the waters at the first home game to see if it's worth starting bisa up again.
