Under the present clouds of uncertainty the Club can only do so much...the supporters are key to the solution here.We are all in the doldrums and even out here on the East coast,I feel the pain for the City of my youth,especially sport wise.Hearing the Wigan fans getting behind their team at the weekend made me think that everyone could get a lift by playing their part in regenerating success at Odsal ......And all it takes is for ALL fans,old and young to make the effort to say...this is OUR rebirth, sign the pledge and truly make that difference.Yes,moan about facilities, pre-match entertainment,lack of a sugardaddy etc,but the well-being of the Club now rests with it's level of support.It can happen,we have to fill the place and 'BELONG' once again.

The signings we have made so far now appear to be the main sticking point when I've tried to get others to pledge after the initial feelgood factor of the announcement.

Some of the comments I've had on signings when trying to get people to pledge include:

Walker - he's not played for 2-3 years by being in union and breaking his leg.
Ainscough - might be good, but if Wigan don't want him there's probably an issue with him.
Ah Van - Ah who?
Elima - he's never played for a good side - Catalans 1 year of top 4 was a blip on the landscape.
Hargreaves - great - Saints 3rd / 4th choice prop
Sibbitt - you're taking the @#ss now.

Add to that we've let Menzies go, and Orford might not be coming back.

To be honest, the synical side of me sees that these people have a point. I've tried to pursade otherwise, but the best they'll say is, "I might pledge nearer the deadline when hopefully we've signed one or two top players".

Will we sign a top player now - probably not, we'll just end up with some middle of the road players (and more of them if Orford leaves us in the lurch late on).

The best signing (Potter) hasn't been mentioned.

However without halfbacks we'll struggle to make the 8.

Continuing the Bulls Pledge 10,000 initiative, Members of the Bulls marketing team will be spreading the message of the Pledge at the closing weekend of the Saltaire Festival on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September

For 10 days each September, thousands of people flock to the small corner of West Yorkshire for the Saltaire Festival which is filled with music, drama, art and crafts, exhibitions, markets, family entertainment and this year, for the first time, The Bulls Pledge 10,000.



Bradford Bulls Marketing Director, Andrew Bennett said today:

"The Pledge is going really well so far and we are doing everything we can to ensure that this continues so that we can reach and perhaps surpass our magical target of 10,000 pledges. Events like these are crucial so we can inform our fans about the Pledge, how it works and, indeed, encourage them to commit to the Bulls for next season."

Interesting that the club are calling it a membership and that it only costs 17p per day to join.

It was already being marketed as 'membership', as it was last season. However I think they're trying to tell supporters, particularly those who are not currently 'members', that £60 gets you a season ticket which is a term everyone understands.

Yes it's looking good but we must make the Saltaire Festival promotion work to help boost the numbers.

At the moment based on my calculations we'll fall short by 1004 pledges.

I am positive that any residents of Saltaire will ba already pledged after my intensive leafletting campaign...

But I am sure the festival might attract some Outsiders.

I wish Leigh were doing this, even Saints, Wire or Wigan. I'd pledge just to watch top-flight Rugby League for £60 for the year!

It is a very good offer and even if you only go to the big games vs Leeds, Wigan, St Helens, Hull FC, Hull KR etc your £££££ in to start with.

I'm in the same boat, not had any confirmation for each of my pledges that I have made.

I'll email the club tomorrow and find out if they've got mine.
