| Quote ="martinwildbull"Bowlingboy, can you please give a bit more detail of what you think is poor running of the club? It seems a strange comment a day or so after the club announce a structured managed process with a clear timetable to appoint a new coach, one that any HR manager in any organisation would recognise as good practice. What the press release does not refer to is the job and person specification, and I would expect Chalmers and Lowe had a big say in that as owners, giving the gang of three the criteria to use in selecting the shortlist. Nor does the phrase "a recommendation" limit that recommendation to one person, they may well say in early December that Chalmers needs to do final interviews on several coaches that met the criteria. Hence the time gap between making that recommendation and the appointment.
I think that getting from where they started to this point without going under shows superb management skills, forget relegation, I am simply happy there is a club to relegate. Let's see what this season brings not write it off a month before the first opportunity the new coach will have to assess where the squad is at. Which will be far ahead of where it was a year ago.'"
Very well said Martin.
When I read the initial article I had no doubt Chalmers will be fully involved but is letting a small team do the ground work.
We are bringing in new people who are experienced and building the lower teams.
I think everything is looking good regarding rebuilding the club steadily and on a much stronger foundation.
This is what we have been asking for over the last decade.
I accept Chalmers is not the most expressive person in the media but I just don't care if he builds the club properly and we can all be proud to be Bulls/Northern supporters again.

| We can never get a clear run though, can we? Wonder how much time, expense and resource is being redirected at the Tribunal claim. Don't like to wonder what might happen if that goes tits, but sadly even if we are cleared, we'll still have inevitably spent a very sizeable sum on legals. Add the uncertainty and funding the lawyers whilst it all drags on and I'm not sure that there is likely to be much meat at all on the bones for what you might call club "building".
be 2018 as it may, the route for us - out of C1, consolidated in the Championship, eventually get to a state where you might think of playing in SL again - is a road that year on year is always going to lead to a substantial loss - IMHO of course - which will have to be funded from somewhere. When people say "building", do they really mean to suggest a situation where we become increasingly wealthy and turning profits? That is never going to be the case. To me, "building" is inevitably always going to = "somebody putting in loads of cash from somewhere".

| I don't work for the club and Rohan wasn't scatter gun, I had that from someone in the room when they interviewed him - it was hardly a name being thrown around at the time.
I have a friend who has been at the club for over 20 years now, but it's not SD.
Anyhoo, there's apparently a shortlist now and there's a couple of interesting names on it - that's all I know, but I'm not privy to the list.
I still think we're being softened up for it to be Sharp and Greenwood, I'm happy with Lee - I won't be watching a John Sharp robot team play.
No thanks, I'll go and watch the kids.

| Sorry but after some of the shambolic rugby we saw last season I'd give my right arm for a team that can do the basics right.
If that's Jon Sharp's game then I'd say he's exactly what we need!

| Either Sharp or Greenwood is fine as far as I'm concerned. We're a club which has had a disastrous fall over the last few years culminating in our current position in the bottom tier of the pro game and a bit of boring predictable robotics, and definitely without the off-field antics, will suit me very well for a while.

You could cry when you think that we are in the third tier and you watch England run the Aussies so close with 5 ex Bulls playing.

I dont care if they play like robots/zombies/aliens - if they win games - thats good enough for me.
Aside from a few odd games - we stopped playing entertaining footie years ago.
Given a choice of watching good rugby but losing, or watching poor rugby but winning - nowadays I'm happy to pay for the latter.
Lets get back into Super League then we can ask for pretty footie.

Who says we can't win and be entertaining and progressive that's how you get fans back isn't it? Sharp might well win games, but he has no brain, and will coach from the one book he's read.
Percentages, completion yada, yada - I'd like to be entertained on a Sunday afternoon.
It's all pretty pointless debate, as we all like different things my friend.

| The thing that makes me think that Sharp would be a good idea is that when i’ve watched his teams they all seem very good defensively. They have been well organised and hard to score against.
We have players that are more than capable of exciting attacking plays. I don’t think scoring points is going to be a problem this year. Guys like Chisholm, Keyes, Minchella, Peltier, Smith, Ryan and Oakes will score plenty of points in C1.
What we need is someone who can sort out the defence. Our ability to defend has been atrocious the last few years.
I have no problem with the suggestion of Sharp with Greenwood as his assistant.
