I really hope Flannery isn't Menzies' replacement, not in the same class.

but he does get through a lot of work and maybe the cheaper option
the money saved on having flannery could be used to sign a real quality back

Know any English quality backs out of contract? The only reason we should let Menzies go is to get a quality back from the NRL, if we use his quota spot on Flannery i'll be very, very disappointed.

But Flannery is a quota player, signing Flannery would take up the only quota spot we have available and thus would prevent us from signing either a quality stand off/centre or straight replacement for Menzies, as the only players of sufficant standard in these areas to compensate for Beavers loss will require a quota spot.

Flannery wouldn't be a good use of our last quota spot imo, when we could keep somebody in that position but who is a better player.

Well,what I heard on Monday was that we were getting Elima, we had an offer for another catalans player, we had offers in for both Karl & Leon, Palea'aesina had an offer on the table and we had 2 Aussies coming. This means that 2 quota players are leaving. along with 5 or 6 other current players. I assumed this would mean Orford & Beaver leaving. My source is half right so far.

Any idea who the 2 aussies are?

The club think Orford is coming back though, so why would they put in for another Aussie?

Elima and Leon will go down well, if Karl comes back, I hope he can find some heart from somewhere.
