Barlow, is dangerous. he will cause more trouble off the pitch than he is worth on it.

And Miloudi a new 1 year deal. I'm aware. That's why I was saying they may be short term loan deals.

I've said it previously, but I wouldn't want to be pinning hopes on Toronto, whether it be loans deals or Dual Reg. I actually think they'd be just about the worst possible DR partner, given their total absence of reserves and academy.
Their most recent squad list https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/ho ... 20-so-far/ shows that they have only 24 players signed for 2020, and two of that last (Brierley and Worthington) have now gone out on season long loans.
With only 22 players, and NO reserves or academy, do you really think that they are going to be having spare players to loan out? All that's needed is a few injuries and they are going to be needing to loan players in...
Granted they'll probably make a couple more signings, but still...

Worthington is a short term loan, not season long. And I believe Brierley is a permanent transfer rather than any kind of loan (although not 100% on that one).
I don't disagree with your point though, I don't think you'll get much out of them as a DR partner.

I'll have to take your word for it, I know nothing of the bloke other than what I've seen on the pitch and read regarding his recent ban. I would of thought Kear would have enough friends in the game to gauge whether Barlow was worth a punt on.

| Squad depth is now the issue. Our 4 starting props would probably be Crossley, England, Barlow & Kirk. Which is pretty good for championship. But injuries & suspensions will probably bite.

| But surely if we DR with Toronto they wonāt have a big enough squad to commit players out on minimum 28 day loan periods so to keep them fit they will to DR them out a week at a time to keep them match fit? If they havenāt got reserves what else will they do?

| what i can see (even though we are grunting our front row) and others have mentioned is ... our creativity ... last year we started with 4 halves?? and all got injured. Looks like we have 2 Lilley and (on loan) Milnes. with these 2 fit we arnt gonna create nothing. With the Dews pitch being so constaint, it will be straight up the middle where halves are not gonna be an issue. Survival only this season (and i will be banging the drum from afar) so bring on 2021

agreed ... from last time we got nowt ... D/Reg with T i feel is not a good fit ... i can only post on these things just on opinion but any Duel Reg has to be with a SL club with a big squad

| Last time I donāt think we got anything as we werenāt that bothered. Surely DR with a super league large squad will mean these players play in a reserve side and not out on DR? A DR with a ream with no reserves and no where else to play seems a better option to me?...

Not necessarily.
It would depend on how the coaches value the different competitions and the particular players involved. Maybe the Championship would be a better fit to bring on certain 'fringe' players than the reserve league? In any case, isn't a reserve side compulsory in SL this season, or have I got that wrong?

It's not. And I don't think it is for Catalans either although they effectively run a reserve side in the French league. Expansion teams don't have to follow same rules as the member clubs.

RL, and in particular SL, is a messy mish-mash in the way it's set up, by the look of it...

| Which is what I said, small squad unlikely to tie them up on loans with a minimum commitment of 28 d so DR arrangement is perfect for SL teams with small squads as they can send them out for a week and know they will be available for week after if required with some game time behind them. The point I was disagreeing about was with the people saying a DR link up with a small squad in SL is pointless as they wonāt send anyone out, I think the opposite could happen unless they get ravaged by injuries

| Could we not just have Storton back? Looking at HKR's squad for next year, I don't think that many of the players who they've signed from us are going to get much game time next year. Which will be a shame for guys like Ryan and Mincella who deserve their chance
