If he gets selected I won't think that it's a bad choice, i'd just like to make sure hes fully ready (although I suppose there's no point wrapping players in cotton wool)'"
I thought the selection of Briggs was the oddest choice, rather than the non selection of Kear.

I put Briggs/Sammut as I think 6 is where it is hardest to name someone.
We have 3 options, none of which look certain yet. But Jeffries was non existent today, and although Briggs didn't do much last week he's the one who's already had a partnership with Gale in the past.
But i'm not a coach, so it'll be interesting to see what Potter thinks by next week.

I suggest you watch the Keighley highlights. Ainscough is easy to spot, he is the blonde haired lad tigging Barnett every time he runs past him to score.

| New signings Adrian Purtell, Elliot Kear, Jarrod Sammut, Luke Gale and Phil Joseph could all make their Super League debuts for the club after being named in Mick Potter's 19 man squad to face Catalans Dragons.
Hooker and Captain Heath L'Estrange is set to play his first game since May and he is joined by his co Captain Matt Diskin who has recovered from the calf injury he sustained at Hull last week.
Another new signing, Keith Lulia, misses out with a Hamstring strain as does Karl Pryce.
The Squad is: Bateman, Burgess, Crookes, Diskin, Donaldson, Gale, Hargreaves, Jeffries, Joseph, Kear, Kearney, Kopczak, Langley, L'Estrange, Purtell, Sammut, Scruton, Sibbit, Walker.

Walker got quite a bit of praise for his performance in the Hull game. I don't think we'll go too badly on his side.

On the face of it my answer would be no, but, and it's an important BUT, I'm not the one who has been watching them in training.

| Crookes seemed to beat Tom Briscoe twice when we played Hull. Once attacking, he scored a full length and Briscoe didn't catch him. And once in defence, Briscoe went 50m, Crookes caught him but was unlucky with the tackle.

weren't bulk of hulls tries scored down purtell/crookes side as well though?

I think it was Purtell and Kear on the same wing.
The highlights vid shows Crookes outpacing Sharp for the intercept try. Briscoe comes across from the other wing but doesn't quite make it.
Similarly when Briscoe is on his way to the line, it is Crookes who comes across and actually gets to him, just a bit unlucky that he rolls off the tackle.

| Purtell and Kear mate. Most of the first 6 Hull tries were Kearney's fault. Then Jeffries, Sammut failed to tackle someone and Crookes did his best to try intercept and tackle Tickle at the same time. Didn't work and Tickle went in. Briscoe's try was Kearney and Hargreaves fault Crookes nearly cleaned up but like Nothus said he was unlucky that he rolled off.

| BBC Weather forecast Quote An AMBER WARNING of SNOW has been issued for northern, central and southeastern parts of England.
A band of wet weather over Northern Ireland and western Scotland early Saturday will move slowly east and southeastwards across the United Kingdom during the day. As it does so it will readily turn to sleet and snow away from western and southwestern coastal areas. Accumulations of 5-10cm are widely expected across northern, central, eastern and southeastern areas of England. The snow is expected to turn to rain over some northern areas later. As skies then clear in this area after dark, icy patches will develop. The public are advised that this is likely to lead to some travel disruption, and it is recommended to keep up to date with forecasts as the event approaches.
Valid from 1200 Saturday until 2359 Sunday.
