I'm sorry, I don't intend to be rude when I say this but that's nonsense. Having worked extensively in papers myself I have a good understanding how these things work and that story last week will not have been the club's doing in any way, shape or form.

Connor obviously got strong information from other sources (maybe agents, maybe players, maybe officials) that Seymour was being chased and that Pryce was looking likely to sign for Catalan. Therefore he will have made every attempt to verify that information and put it out to exhibit he knows what is going on. It's common journalistic practice and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Hood's quote in the Seymour piece obviously suggests Connor approached him telling him he was intending on running the story. The non-committal nature of Hood's quote suggests he was keen to keep things under wraps as much as possible. It was a speculative story that turned out to be true - these things happen.

Plus, Mick's right, Andrew Bennett will have had nothing to do with this story. Duffy and Hood will be almost exclusively responsible for the dissemination of this kind of news.

The only worry is the lack of quality halves available at the current moment. Seymour wouldn't necessarily have been my choice to fill the playmaking void but he may have been the best option available to Super League clubs looking to recruit.

The obvious difference would therefore be that we (after recent events with contracts) didn't want to offer more than 2yrs. Hull offered 3 but at slightly less annual salary so therefore can factually be reported that he signed for Hull for less money.

Whilst I have seen neither offer, from the statement I would conclude that he chose the one with the longer term. I can't stick FACT after it as I don't know for sure but that is the conclusion I would make.

Nobody will know wht he signed, but at the moment I think most players would choose Hull over Bradford.
