Yeah, but we signed him before the whole Crusader-implosion. So he doesn't have the same problem other Crusader players have ie he already had a club to go to before it transpired Crusaders would not be a SL club in 2012.

So what the Bulls are wanting is to get the same dispensation for the player they've signed from Crusaders as the rest of the league gets for signing a Crusaders player.

And I don't blame them & hope they are successful. But in that case they must have signed him on the assumption that there was no such thing as the dispensation (unless they got a sniff that it was forthcoming).

So that when we're absolutely e in 2012 we will be able to point to a series of issues beyond the control of the club?

I believe Lynch wants to come to Hull because AP as offered him a contract that he see's will be benificial to him and his family.
From what I hear Lynch asked for a contract that would be well worth his while via his agent and Hull more or less agreed. All this he's moving to Hull because Hull are on the edge of greatness and he sees Hull as better club is just rubbish this is his job and he'll do whats best for him and his family as would we all.

If Lynch goes to Hull then he goes with my thanks. He wont be cheap, he is past his best and he owes us nothing. IN his time here he has been a good player and a great ambasador for our club, but we need something else.

Nope. One extra quota player isn't going to make a massive difference to our squad. Meant in sense that an extra non fed trained spot will allow us to sign a kokoak player ( or a full quota player if Jeffries gets his passport too), whereas as Jeffries getting his passport without sammut also getting dispensation only allows us to sign an overseas player who already has a dispensation making them fed trained due to being over here when fedvyrainef ruled came eg. Morrison.

No probs. It will take least 3months before we get to that stage.

As long as we have a good replacement lined up I won't lose any sleep over this. It's a shame he's going but he's been great for the club and deserves a 'pay day'.

If Lynch does go, I shall be disappointed. He does a hell of a lot of work on the pitch and that's going to be missed.
However, he will be 32 going into next season. So if Hull are offering him a longer deal than Bradford, and probably for more money then I say good luck and thanks for all your hard work Andy

I do not think that Andy Lynch would still be at the peak of his powers by the time the Bulls are hoping to contend in the upper echelon of Super League. So losing an ageing player, albeit a good one does not perturb me too much.

This should be an opportunity for the Bulls to replace him with a younger player who could become a cornerstone of the pack for years to come. Unfortunately I fear that the club will instead opt for a the stop gap option.

Similarly one would hope that players such as Nick Scruton takes on added responsibility and flourishes.

No - we are a club which the better players want to leave, so we are forced to get some money for them, which is worse.

Why is a 31 year old prop (they being renowned for longevity) be assumed to be over the hill, past it and just 2 seasons left because he leaves us?

The point being, we don't want to be hemorrhaging players of his class.

I agree but if he is going to leave next year anyway then the fee can be spent on a replacement (hopefully).

I don't think he's over the hill but I would be surprised if he keeps going as well as he has and for as many minutes over the next few years.
