Out of interest, what does happen to our sponsorship if George does jet off to pasteurs new after we've paid up?

Not a lot I would imagine, particularly if he's just going on loan as has been suggested, but it is important to remember that we're not giving this sponsorship money to the player, it goes to the club and whether George spends any of this next year in Oz or not the club will still be here and in need of our support.

Understand all of the above, however if he goes "officially" ie - not on loan, I imagine there'd be a few feeling short changed.

The selection you've got is fine by me as well.

The prospect of one of the sponsored players going out on loan (or worse) does not worry me particularly - these things happen. Clubs typically like to sort sponsorships and things out quite early and often things change before a ball is kicked. If anything starts to look likely I imagine the club will discuss the issue with our honourable syndicate spokesman.
It happened to me a while ago with a Crewe Alex player (boo hiss I know) and the club went out of their way to ensure I got value for my sponsorship outlay.

I like the idea of having a flag made.

While I agree with the sentiments about the money going to the club, there's another element that has been forgotten about.

Another part of this sponsorship was supposed to be to give a little boost to the players who might not have got a sponsor otherwise wasn't it? So for example a young lad who's in the first team squad and had nobody to sponsor him, gets sponsored by us and gets a bit of a self esteem boost that there are people out there who give a monkeys about him.

If that is a big enough part of it, do we want to give that self esteem boost to a player who's going rather than one who's staying?


(Incidentally, I'm not personally that bothered and will go with whatever is decided, just thought I'd mention that side of it).

Wigsy - T&A reporting that George Burgess is on his way permanently (set to be announced later this week). Doubt Connor will be wrong so can you get an idea from the club on who else we will / could be sponsoring?

Or is that why we have Cain mentioned? Am I right in thinking the idea would be to have 3 players so Tom Burgess, Cain and a.n.other (maybe above)

we already had the twins and Cain. thing to bear in mind is I believe we got a reduced rate for sponsoring the twins as a pair (at least that was situation last year). so the amount free'd up by removing george from the twins sponsorship may not be enough to get another player.

Total raised: 71 x £20 = £1420

- Player sponsorship of £1351.25

Leaves a surplus of £68.75, which is to go to Bullbuilder as a donation.
