Is that an assumption or do you have incontrovertible proof!
Its been stated by many over the years on this and other forums but no one has actually bothered with proving it!

When they announce a sell out at a stadium, do you think absolutely everyone who bought a ticket turned up? Nobody was ill or had an emergency that day and didn't go?
72,827 was the "capacity crowd" attendance at last year's Grand Final. There wasn't one person who missed the train or got into a fight before the game and ended up in the cells / hospital?
I know the counter argument here will be "just because they do it doesn't mean the Bulls do". But I don't believe that for a minute. I can't prove it at all obviously, but in no way do I believe it to be true.

To be honest, it would go against all logic not to accept that argument.

| The GF isn't based on season ticket holders but a different set of stats that include the usual Corporate freebies etc
Why would Mick state as a fact something that isn't unless the person who told him is telling porkies and we know he can be a bit gullible at times, but until it's shown one way or t'other everyone will have to believe whatever they feel is true!

Just one example. If you can be bothered looking, you'll find plenty of standard league fixtures that were "sold out" and announced as capacity crowds. Look for derbies, you probably won't have to look far. If memory serves, a fairly recent Saints/Wigan derby was one.

Habit?
Seriously, I have no idea. He's not necessarily lying himself, he could be acting on duff info. But I have no doubt that the info is duff.

Mick isn't lying. Technically he's correct because the season tickets are still tickets after all, and they include admission to the York game on Sunday.
He included season ticket sales in his figure of 'over 4000 tickets sold for Sunday' because it's the higher figure and looks better.

The "over 4,000 tickets" figure includes the season ticket holders and tickets currently sold.
Not every season ticket holder will turn up on Sunday as the data shows that just above 82% turn up on a match day, so it's impossible to give an accurate figure.
That is why it's currently "over 4,000 tickets" and with a healthy walk up crowd, we could see over 5,000 at Odsal on Sunday.

| Well see they are strengthening now Jack Ormondroyd is a good signing. Josh Jordan Roberts I thought did a reasonable job for us last year in difficult circumstances. Then whatever they can muster from KR on dual reg, least they can't get Moss this time!
We need to be fully focused and in the armwrestle for 80 mins. If we concentrate on ourselves though and keep the errors minimal we still should be able to control the game. Massive improvement needed from previous weeks though

| At least we've been properly tested by Hunslet and Newcastle recently. I wouldn't want to be going into this game having just played Hemel and Coventry.

I've never quite understood why they got out of that practice. It gets kids interested, who may want to come back. It gets adults coming because someone has to bring the child, and said adult will likely be paying to get in. Even if they weren't, they also may want to come back. Not to mention said adult and child may fancy something to eat or drink while in the ground (getting the sweetie van stocked up would be a good plan). As long as those people weren't coming anyway and you've just let them in when they would have paid, it's a no lose situation for the club.

Gregg McNally says it's great testament to both the #BradfordBulls and #YorkCityKnights that they have only three defeats between them going into the top of the table clash at Odsal Stadium on Sunday.

Agree entirely - that plan was just about the biggest driver of 'Bullmania' and should never have been ended. Though with the plethora of owners over the last few years I guess it's understandable that lots of babies have been thrown out with the bathwater.

Bloody hell, who'd have seen that one coming.
But, in the words of Sir Terry Pratchett - Always remember that the crowd that applauds your coronation is the same crowd that will applaud your beheading. People like a show.

| Looks good but I’m not sure im into the “got to get back to super league” club like the journalist. I’m glad to see Chalmers isn’t either.
If we’re not going bust every five minutes and are competing I’m happy. Superleague isn’t the be all and end all. I’d rather be at odsal tomorrow for what looks like being a great turn out and atmosphere in a top of the table clash than watching dross like Widnes or Salford.

| Well, what a game!
York were untouchable in that first 20 mins where everything seemed to go their way. We were simply dreadful. We were lucky to claw back the score considering how poorly we played in the opening 40 mins.
Kear’s half time team talk appeared to work and I felt they were dead on their feet in the last 15 mins but we threw away so many chances to win it. Their final try took so much out of us and left us with too much to do.
I felt we played better with Mini in the halves and with Flanagan at 9. Poor move bringing Flanagan off when we were steamrolling them. Hallas was a bit of a headless chicken.
York won their cup final today. We are still top though so we are still in control of our promotion push.

| In the first half they wanted it more, that’s the bit I can’t accept, defence and attack they were quicker, stronger and more enthusiastic.
If only we could share what Flanagan has amongst them. He was completely gassed when they brought him off.

| Shocking first half. If they were playing to a gameplan then Kear must take some responsibility because 5 barges at the line and a kick to Ryan is just not good enough. Kirk, sound lad that he is, is just not good enough. Never breaks a tackle and drops more than his fair share of ball. Having said that we could have nicked a point at the death so team spirit was good. Minchella, Green, Flanagan and Ryan our best players today.

| What an afternoon. Just like the good old days for atmosphere, although we were outplayed in all areas. Well done York.
Our style of play is becoming very obvious, and creatively we are lacking a spark. Thought Garside and Flanagan were good, George looked totally knackered when he was brought off. Chizzy isn't running the lines like he can, IMO, his one effective run in the 2nd half led to a score, and McNally looks like a shadow of his former.
Still, an exciting afternoon, and the race to the top is still in our hands.....just !
