| Wasn't mullaney supposed to be having surgery to sort his hamstrings out?. Sure they said something about identifying an underlying issue which was causing his ongoing issues and it would be addressed by in off season. If that's happened then surely he'd still be recovering and not able to take part in pre-season. Guess time will tell.

| Jarrod will not be officially signing for any club for a few weeks, at least not until his agreement with his current agent expires at the end of this month......

| Jake Mullaney, will not be returning, it is a family made decision and not because of any issues with the Bulls.

| I'm sure once season ticket sales are essentially over, the club will announce it. Oooo, I'm getting cynical...

| I doubt anyone expects another season without a SH. Jimmy has 6 months (June) to earn a new contract. I am still not sure whether he will get another contract unless we are transformed this year. Mediocre performances like last season will soon have supporters shouting for Smithy to be signed up for October 2016.

| So we haven't unveiled Sammut today...what a dissapointment....in fact no scrum half.... I'm somewhat worried by this. An earlier post said he'd already signed for Workington...maybe this is the case. If Workington have kept him, well hats off to them, but you have to question why the Bulls have over looked an opportunity to acquire a good quality SH like Jarrod....what now?... I'm still hoping he is a free agent and we may yet sign him....but we appear to be very limited in our options.

| For what it's worth, I think it may be a good business plan to have someone [maybe Sammut? already signed and ready to announce when the membership sales start flagging a bit.....I also think they seem to have someone who knows a bit about selling at the club these days. Or, to put it another way, I'm not counting anything out yet.

| Perhaps they're saving a few 'Xmas Presents' for us, I seem to recall Lauaki was revealed around that time last year. Though let's hope it's somebody more effective than Lauaki was for large parts of last season.

| I think Lauaki was a bit of a panic buy though wasn't he? Offerdahl pulled out and left us scrambling for another prop. I think in an ideal situation the club would have finished most of its transfer dealings before christmas.

| I like the optimism...yes there is still time to acquire a decent scrum half and as already speculated maybe we have signed someone yet to be revealed. I shall to try and remain positive.

| Other thing to bear in mind is with sjielka and mullaneys departures we have quota spots available. Maybe a case of we have someone signed and waiting on visa before announcing signing.
That said I still expect Sammut to be in a Bradford shirt next yr.

| What's happened to purtell? He ran the show at our place in the 8's, you will go far better with a Gaskell/purtell half back pairing than Gaskell/Sammut! He goes hiding to much does jarrod.

| I was told last week (same bloke that told me Mullaney wasn't training, which proved correct) that a 7 hasn't been signed yet and that the club were on the lookout for one. I noticed Gledhill also tweeted something recently about the club looking in Australia for a new 7, so that would marry up with what I was told.
To me, it looks like Addy or Purtell are the current option for 7 (probably Addy), and if they can find the right available scrum half, that plan then changes. I personally would rather go with Addy at 7 than blow money on a panic buy like Siejka again, although I appreciate we're screwed as soon as we have an injury or two to Addy, Gaskell or Thomas.

| Addy is nowhere near consistent enough, or quality enough to be one of our regular halfbacks to get us into SL. He may look good at Championship level but he’s not able to string quality performances together versus SL opposition – much like many of his teammates.
Purtell’s one good game at halfback away at Leigh looks increasingly like enough to get him the job fulltime. Mind you’ll he’s still a better option than Siejka.
Gaskell is more important than ever. I hope we do get a halfback in time for the season starting otherwise we’ll be in the same boat as last year.

| It leaves us very dependent on Gaskell remaining fit too, especially when we hit the eights.

Addy would be a far better choice at half back if he would just trust himself more. As it is, he's always a little hesitant and seems in two minds sometimes on the pitch

Agree about Addy. He's just a split second too slow in making a decision for HB.
Sammut I would still take. Some players just fit at certain clubs.

This. Look at the competition, (including the likely Super 8s competition) and we simply will get nowhere uness our halves can at least compete with those combinations. Purtell is probably my favourite Bulls player, and he does a job wherever he plays, but having him at scrum half as a first choice is just ludicrous.

| If we go into next season with the squad as it is in terms of half back, then we're in a worse boat than last season. Seijka didn't work out but he was a last minute gamble that might have paid off, and Mullany could play 7, but now we have no-one except Addy, who whilst I really like needs to be playing 13 and is not consistently good enough at 7 against Mid 8 level sides IMHO. Purtell is a great pro who will put a shift in wherever he's asked I suspect, but hes an outside back, and that's where he should be playing. Lets play our backrowers in the backrow, our outside backs in the outside backs, and lets sign a halfback to play halfback...If Workington or Dewsbury sign Sammut then they'll have one of the top 4 half backs in the league. There was an interesting tweet from JS the other night though regarding boot colours....

| Recent HMRC shenanigans suggest that we’re not exactly flush so I’m bracing myself for Purtell and Addy at halfback when Gaskell’s inevitably injured before the 2016 middle 8s.
