RFL need shafting because they allowed the Bulls franchise, they deemd it a strong business proposiition they either did not read it, ignored it or quite simply proves licensing is ajoke and my 3 year old could have written the application. RFL = No backbone.

at the end of the day the RFL were advised by a body that looked at the finance plans of the applicants for a SL licence, who is to say that the info given to the assessors was 100% truthful and accurate as it probably contained "projected" income from season tickets, pay on the day fans, merchandise sales, sponsorship etc etc. any of these could have been vastly incorrect or not come to fruition.

If the RFL had said to the Bulls in July 2011 we don't think your application is good enough and you won't get a licence, almost everyone in RL would have called the RFL a bunch of Idiots. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Maybe if they had used the word ' speulative ' to describe it everybody would have agreed with them, they did over the Fax application, as you say, hindsight is a wonderful thing, when used selectively

WOW bitter about Davy paying for a squad and not being viable to stand on there commercial activities. Good luck today Bulls, i hope you don't find yourselves in this situation again, or god forbid with someone willing to bankroll you.

One thing in one of Taskers T&A statements the other week hasn't got a mention. He said discussion on the deal with RFL for lease had started earlier in 2011 (think he said May). I thought that was interesting and whether it suggests the £700K loan was a down payment.

If by some miracle the Bulls went all the way and won the GF, it would certainly add interest to the RFL's decision.

But this is what happens when you operate differently to other mainstream sports , anomolies like this can happen , in Championship 1 a club could win the GF , but not be promoted , but only this year

Super statement carping about Giants having a backer whilst busy looking for one for themselves kettle and pot I think or is it just plain jealousy ? Also why does every discussion involving Giants always come down to we get more fans through the gates than you do? That WAS what you were implying, wasn't it, when you said they "gave us the points" and for which we should be "grateful"? Because a key element in the decision making process is that 'we get more fans than you'. In terms of history, support, profile and contribution to the comp we're more important than you. This isn't me saying this - it's Eamon McManus and all those Giants fans that didn't buy a ticket to the semi-final of the CC.

No Adeybull that was not what I was implying at all. I would never accuse any professional sports players of deliberatley throwing a game. What I was implying was that the Giants played so badley that they gave the Bulls the points. Does that clear it up for you? Which still leaves the question as to why you think Ken Davy backing the Giants is any different to what you want someone to do for you. I would like to think that if Ken Davy did pull the plug on Giants he wouldn't dump them with 1.5 mill debt unpaid players and unpaid tax.

I'm sure "Sir Ken" wouldn't do that, he seems like a nice chap. But if he did pull out, a couple of years after he had gone, based on the crowds you pull, minus the wages and other overheads you would be up to your neck in the brown stuff in a very similar situation to us.

Would the RFL pay the players' bonuses?

Doesn't advancement in the play-offs trigger higher prize monies to the club? If so, I guess that would cover it.

I know the monies paid for winning the comp, can be given to the players as a bonus, and it also doesn't count towards the cap.....

Not sure about the play off money though!

think any extra from the playoffs will likely mean that the RFL/SLE will have to advance less to pay the monthly bills

Unless the player's contracts specify how much comes to them as a "win bonus".

I'm not thinking about the money going to the players as a bonus, more along the lines that it's income for the club and they could then afford to pay the wages anyway. They could have an incentive bonus in their contracts though..
