| Quote ="dagger"Caisley said he had people to invest in the club, admin had to be expected before these appeared.
No-one would throw money at something like this for nothing, its not a charity. They would want control. In order to get control, they would have to buy out the existing shareholders - all the thousands of tiny ones reluctant to let go of their stake in their club..plus the people like Hood, who would never sell to a Caisley sympathiser (just as Caisley wouldn't in roll-reversal). We know this for a fact over the past couple of years.
To buy out shareholders would cost hundreds of thousands, if not a million or so. Now, it will cost nothing. So now they have a free club ready to take. If Caisley actually did have people - this is what they would have been waiting for.
We will only see if CC is a liar in a week and a bit...'"
Caisley's "investors" are probably just as imaginary as Hood's. Maybe they are even the same imaginary people, currently playing together at the bottom of a garden in Cottingley.

Judging from some of the comments posted on this message board, I doubt that either side is capable of keeping a secret.
If either Hood or Caisley ever had a significant investor lined up I think we'd have known all about it.

| I think I must be going mad reading all these posts. I have never met either Mr C or Mr H and I have no reason to like or trust either (and at the moment feel too heartbroken about the whole thing to care about anyone) but I do know that I was lied to by Mr H when he said that we were OK after the sale of Odsal, when he said that if I pledged my £100+ we'd be Ok etc etc. I was quite clearly, quite definitely and without doubt lied to by him. To date Mr C has never directly lied to me that I'm aware of (although his hints about potential investors comes close I have to admit). He may be as dishonest, evasive and incompetent as PH but I haven't listened to him directly misleading me over the last few months - and I have listened to PH doing exactly that. What strikes me forcibly, though, is that people who have actually met and had discourse with both men always seem to want to think the worst of CC and the best of PH - suggesting one is a much more amiable person than the other. Sadly amiability won't get us out of this mess and, frankly, I'd follow Satan right now if he could avoid liquidation and give me the opportunity to continue to support a club I've been attending since the 1940s (yes, the 1940s - I was taken to Odsal to see my first game in my pram in 1947!). Those posters who know both characters and are always ready to brand CC as a villain and PH as just misguided, can you honestly say that OBJECTIVELY, the latter is not just as bad as the former? And in the end, does it matter? All I care about is that my beloved club survives.

| At times like these i wish we could all be allowed to say whatever we want on these forums because i need to F***in* swear!!
Like what has already been stated time and again it just seems to me that us, the loyal supporters have been taken for a set of T**ts!
Hood was daft enough to sell the ground to the RFL without (as it seems) taking the appropriate legal advice as to what the implications would be for the club. Caisley (who arguably could be blamed for getting us into this sh*t in the first place with Harris-gate) removes Hood, comes in, fades into the background and feeds the fans with rubbish for a month or so before taking us into administration, possibly oblivion!!!!
Annoyed slightly!!

I doubt anyone but a true fan would invest in a club that doesn't make much money with £1.2million haning over it's head.
I always defended Peter Hood in that he inherited a mess, but he has run the club into the ground. You don't run £1.2 milliondebt because your unlucky or had a bad couple of seasons, its bad management. First we were told we by Hood that the sale of Odsal wasn't because we were skint and we could have carried on regardless. LIE. Then we were told that we we get the 500k to plug the overdraft gap we would be safe. LIE.
I'm not saying Caisleys a knight in shining armour, but he's not the one t blame for this and he certainly hasn't lied to the fans. Hood did.
I am hoping and preying that someone buys the club i love now.

| I don't hold Chris Caisley responsible on his own it's the entire shareholding TBH. Hopefully they are on the way out making this the best thing that's ever happened for the club.
Or is that just wishful thinking? However much I expected this I feel absolutely sick to the pit of my stomach. It's like someone punched me in the stomach at 11:00 this morning and I'm still reeling from it.
One thing I am certain of is though and that is that the new owners won't show their hands until the last minute which means we're in for an horrendous ten days. But we're just the mugs that pump our money into the club so who give's a sh17!

To be fair it really wasn't hard to work out this would happen irrespective of the £500k being raised. More importantly why on earth would you trust anybody who had gotten the club into such a mess with another half a mil? It really wasn't hard to take everyone for tits that's for sure. Not to mention the constant warnings from other fans....

| I have been thinking if PH's intentions with the first £500,000 was to just clear the debt that himself and Bennet had given personal guarantees against.
I do hope this is not the case!

| Neither would seem to be a person you would trust - Hood with the stadium deal, the pledge etc., Caisley with the non existent plan, oops sorry - situation much worse than I was told - strange to think the largest shareholder has so little power or influence!!
Hang their heads in shame to what they've done to my club, if it was a choice of Championship with a total new regime or Super League with these guys involved - honestly think I would vote for the championship - this crap does my head in! I've never bought a Euromillions ticket - I'm going to buy a few this week!!

Most of the £500k went to pay the Jan, Feb and then the march PAYE, and some of the April Salaries. The former to stop HMRC from winding up the club, the latter so we still had a club. The rest was to replace the bank facility which the bank had pulled.
Quit worrying!

| Btw, Caisley did NOT lie.
The reason people THINK he did, is because they recall what they THOUGHT he said, not what he ACTUALLY said.
As I have said all along, he was smart enough to not actually promise anything, just to leave people thinking he had.

| I think most people know I am unlikely to feature on Caisley's Christmas card list. Even so, whilst I concur with what you have enclosed in quotes, he is not the first and will not be the last to do that. Go watch any politician! He never actually promised to deliver investment -I have been cautioning about this since his intervention. His wording, as always, was clever; but whatever else he may or may not be guilty of, in this matter he was not a liar.

| I feel for the Loyal Bulls Fans who were willing to dig deep to rescue the Club, were they though told the truth of the crisis? Same were the RFL told the whole truth when they purchased Odsal? (lease)
It was Caisey who voted to kick out London! so I hold no respect for him and would not like to see him benefit from the current crisis!
Too long we have all buried our heads in the sand The Greatest Game! yes the one with no major sponsorship monies coming in? For far too long clubs have been too parochial! We are alright Jack, the whole game is in Crisis!

| Knowing Chris Caisley & Peter Hood over a period of 22 years in various situations. i.e Supporters Club activities, Feeding the Players post match during Brian Smiths and Matt Elliott's reign I can categoricallly state that both these people have worked long and hard for Bradford Bulls and were both keen supporters,( Chris Caisley from a young age ) and both felt strongly about the club. They would never knowlingly do anything to jeopardise its existance. Being Chairman is a thankless unpaid job, and no one would do it lightly. It takes up a large amount of your private life and you are castigated with whatever decisions you take, by people who do not know the full story. Please lets move forward and hope our club can be saved... calling and bickering will not solve the problems. We also knew Trevor Foster who saved the Club previously, and we never heard him call anyone - his viewpoint was always positive. Come on you BULLS. P.S If Chris can't get us out of this then no one can.

If people care to remember
Chris would have only rarely got the chance to 'lie', since as I remember, we didn't [ihave[/i things like forums back then, and as Adey rightly says Chris, a solicitor remember, a profession where the accurate use of words is important, is far too astute to be caught doing that in press interviews where the statements will be pretty much carefully crafted beforehand.
Incidentally, I do feel too many are throwing words like 'lie' around far too often. For certain we have been told many things were going to happen which subsequently didn't, but misjudgements, hopes and best guesses are not lies; a lie is a [ideliberate[/i falsehood not a mistaken prognosis made in the belief that something was true.

I was on a train to Carlisle with Caisley once. Several times in fact. He didn't make them run on time but he didn't make them run late either. Something to bear in mind.

| He's a solicitor and they exist to leach money from people, charging vast sums for doing feck all in many cases, like £30 a time to make a phone call or send a letter on your behalf. It's legalised robbery (if you pardon the pun).
I wouldn't call anyone in that profession a liar though as that will really get the tills ringing.
