| I think there's a deeper problem amongst the squad. There was no fight today, they seemed resigned to it from the off. Reminds me of the side that went umpteen games without a win last season and can see us putting a run like that together again.
Not sure why either but it has been alluded to by ex players and in the media that morale has been at rock bottom for years. Not sure what's going on. Is it a symptom of too many defeats over a long period of time?

Noble back.'"
Potter said this week he's trying to change the culture of the club, but it'll take time. We having a losing culture now. It's a massive job to turn this club around. Noble's a good coach but I don't think he or any coach could do it alone. We need about 3 or 4 top professionals. We've had the odd one in Menzies and Morrison but we need more of that kind of attitude on the field to lead the way.

| Ok - positives first.
Beautiful day for rugby
Sibbit had a good game.
We won the final quarter 14-10. Despite having only 13 fit players, all 4 props on the field and all 3 2nd rowers.
Hopefully Potter will now believe everyone else who told him Sykes is not a stand-off. A fact known to pretty much everyone from last season.
And that is about it.
If anyone was hoping we're a fairweather team, hard tracks etc - that's gone
Our defence was no worse than the Hudds game or the Salford game. A lot worse than the Catalans game or the Leeds game. The inconsistency is appalling.
We have now been mullered 3 times in the league - the problem with this one is it was at Odsal - so everyone saw it.
There was no way we would beat Warrington - I was hoping for a bit more effort though. Leadership is lacking.
We probably set a record for most tries conceded from our own attacking kicks. A whole new way to not complete a set.
The kicking was abysmal today - Herbert, Sykes & Ah van. Also Elima & Whitehead's attacking kicks were poor - why did they end up kicking?

| Quote ="JBT1991"We are a mediocre side due to the mediocre signings Potter made, surely he should be saying get the cheque book back open because we need quality! The side we put out today would be a semi decent championship side at best, the gulf in class was evident today and we need not quantity but the quality players. None of this we are looking at blah blah, rubbish we get the signature it cant be that hard as seems like every bugger else has signed some class. I would actually agree that with Noble back he'd get a tough quality side, makes me laugh when i think that Bradford used to have the best on the line defence in the league!'"
We all take the mick out of John Kear but he's got a team with worse players than ours that had it not been for a points deduction would be above us in the league.
We all love Lynch, Scruton, Langley, Platt but they are average players that are first choice players in our team. It's time we faced facts the hype is just bullsh17!
There's a reason Diskin isn't at Leeds anymore but he's a senior member of our squad and probably one of the top earners. Yet we expect to compete with teams like Leeds. It isn't going to happen.

| So we went into the game without five regulars, then lost Ainscough, Sykes, Diskin and Elima during the "game" and had no subs left.
Elima has done his cruciate.
Its looking very very bleak right now.

Depends on scan. Potter said six weeks to rest-of-season.

| Depends which one or if both. Best scenario would be 3-4/12. Otherwise 6-7/12. Either way he is out for the season.

| The injuries mounting up means Briggs and Southernwood will get a run sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately I can see another long losing run coming up.

| Pitiful.
I think they should refund the Warrington fan's entrance money. They were told that they were coming to watch a Super League side, not a bunch of wasters.

Creditable following from the Wire. Sorry you were sold tickets under the false pretense that you were going to see two SL-quality sides.

| When we were a force in the super league we built success on stout defence. The whole of our threequarter line seem unable to hang on to an oppsition player and it's like christmas every week at odsal. I'm sick of all the "we can see improvement coming" quotes in all the local press by everyone from the coach down. Just shut up,do your job and knuckle down to some honest hard work before slapping yourselves on your boneless backs. Marc Herbert? he's no more a scrum half than my mum.

| Marc Herbert shouldn't be a scapegoat but Potter had a knack of bringing in young players at Saints who turned up and PLAYED. Where are all our young players? We keep turning up hoping for a Foster or a Lomax to grab a chance every week but so far they're all falling short. Has Potter lost his mojo or is the spectre of Steve "failure" McNamara clouding our season? We are a spent force in Super League end of.

| I don't believe we're a spent force. OK we're not very good, but we'd be top 8 if they would put in the same effort as v. Leeds for every game.

| True but that's the issue, they don't and that's why we're a shadow of the team we had 4 years ago. Every team in super league has a bulls connection either players or coaching staff. Why do they all do better when they've left? eg Solomona Bridge and Atkins from today
