Good game that, thought both teams played well, i'm sure the mistakes will be less in a few week. Some excellent moves as well.

It was a good game, I think Sheffield should have walked it by a bit more. They have some massive talent!

I didn't particularly think Crookes shone out.

I realise he probably only met the rest of team yesterday, but he didn't do anything much that made me think he should immediately be recalled and put in our team.

As for Straughier, well, obviously he isn't anywhere near SL quality

No Crookes didn't stand out but apart from the full back none of the Eagles backs did really

Did not think jason did much wrong though which is a plus. Showed a nice out the back pass and some good support for try. Not given a lot of ball to show much else which is partly down to new teammates and getting used to plays.

Was Jamie Bloem running the line? Rumour is he's making rapid progress up the Refereeing Ladder.

Yes, he told me he was doing it on tuesday..first time i reffed with him was at hillsborough hawks, he told me he was doing his fitness test night after and asked me what it entailed..when i told him he said christ ive no chance..but he did, and he is a really good ref..rfl are trying to push ex players into being refs and fast tracking them.

He was and the funny walk he put on just lulled me into a false sense of security. I often thought I'd beaten him with a sidestep or swerve to find he'd cut me in half with a concealed AK 47.
