It is therefore tigertot who is talking "rubbish" to bizarrely claim "It's a completely normal action". AFAIK you don't get called up to the disciplinary and fined for "normal action". I know what tigers is referring to, but it sure as hell doesn't involve a wild, arcing kick in the air, reckless as to whether it lands on an adjacent player or not.

And what's "three feet" got to do with it? Don't you notice that sometimes not every player on the field is actually standing straight up? E.g. in the ruck? Plus, what if it had been Burrow? (Sorry take that back, would've missed).

Kicking your legs out to get defenders off your upper body is a normal action to try & speed up the play the ball or con the official that the defenders are holding down.

I am in agreement with FA to be honest, and was at the time. I do think it should have been banned, not for the incident concerned but because he is not the first one to do it, and wont' be the last, unless there is a deterrent in place. I think the RFL should have made an example of him.

That said what a ridiculous post by sir steve menzies. The punishment for a grade A is nothing to one match. Just because someone else got a ban off an A grade, does not mean others there should get the same. What a stupid thought.

As for Leeds players never getting banned. Again what a truely jelous ridiculous comment to make on this board. Having Leeds just played Bradford last week with Webb banned, it highlights how misguided some fans are. A ban that was incredibly harsh for the offence committed.

just read on rfl site that it was bentham that said giving senior a ban for it would be too harsh.
think this is why he got away with just a fine or helped him in not getting a ban.

Surprised to say the least! Great news but I wonder how the club managed to get the ban overturned? It looked pretty black and white to me, Sykes got himself in an awkward position and ended up throwing Hicks onto his head.

Terrible tackle that deserved a ban. But it was not deliberate, it is out of character, & I have no problem with the ban being overturned. I hope some of the childish muppets on here are enjoying more humble pie for breakfast.
