Agree, he's just a good player, nothing outstanding about him. We'll hardly notice any difference in the pack next season with Hall I dont think.

TBF, he was, as many have stated on here in the past, a Grand Final winner last season. I reckon he was meant to "hit the ground running".

Just heard from one of my Cas frirnds that Sykes is going to them. I know Cas have been laughable with their rumours but I wouldn't mind too much if it was true. Think we could do alot better than Sykes although we could get worse.

Sykes and Nero are not the answer for us long term. Neither have the strike power that clubs need in the centre.

Really? I cant see it. In fact he rarley breaks the line. Granted, he's in better form than last season, which doesn't take a lot of beating if we are honest, but he's not all that good of a centre. He's a decent centre at best in my books. He's to heavy footed, rarley beats a man for pace and has limited evasions skills, he really struggles to get on the outside of his opponent and draw their winger in, leaving ours free. However, he hits very hard and is very strong, I see his game more suited to second row personally.

I think we'll notice a big difference with Glenn Hall. He runs hard as hell, and when he does get tackled he generally wins the collision, and gets a very quick play the ball. This year we don't seem to have that. It seems like we struggle to get a roll on.

strange that theres no mention of this rumour anywhere on cas board. Thing to remember with sykes is he qualifies as home grown which is going to be increasingly important next couple of years until academy lads break through in numbers. reasonably happy with sykes as he covers a few positions to a decent standard and is pretty good in attack. Also gives us another kicking option. Really does need to improve defensively though.

interesting that kirk dixon is out of contract at cas though and homegrown criteria apart could be said to tick the same boxes as sykes but with better defense.

if crookes had had signnificant game time this year I'd agree. but as he hasnt we need to go into next year with two proven .whether thats nero/sykes, nero/dixon or nero/? remains to be seen. hopefully then crookes would kick on next year and be in a position to replace nero when his contract runs out.

Good plan, but I think we definitely need more quality than Nero & Sykes, and as Sykes is the one OOC then he shouldn't be retained imo.

i'd agree with that provided we brought someone better in. We dont want to be in position of going into next year with nero/crookes as first choice imo.
