He's a very wealthy bloke though, by just about anybody's standards so he can do pretty much what he wants. In fact, the first question I asked myself was, why did he choose rugby league? Why not soccer or union? There are far more kudos and headlines to be gained in both of those than RL and, as I said, he seems to have the money to do what he wants. I can only guess he is happy to be the 'big fish' in a relatively small pool and will buy his way to the top and then probably leave when he achieves his ambition or gets fed up - but who knows, I don't.

Why the hell are we losing half of our Sky money this season? we are 650k short, even more when its shared out between the rest of the clubs!

I don't know if or how a "vote" was taken but it was certainly the case, because it was widely reported, that the Bulls agreed to a deal whereby we got 50% money for 2 years and so that was (part of) the deals that were done. It was clearly one part of the price to be paid to get the SL licence, whoever was buying was not in a position of much choice, the choices being take it or leave it.

It is however my understanding that the decision to then distribute the resulting surplus between the clubs themselves was a separate thing altogether. When and how that deal was done, I don't know. The Bulls wouldn't have been a party to it, since they hadn't yet got the SL licence, so if there was any meeting of SL clubs to discuss this, it presumably follows that as a not-yet-member, the Bulls wouldn't have been in attendance. Presumably it must be recorded in some document or minute or something somewhere.

Couldn't agree more that the decision to divvy was and remains a disgrace, but even had they been aware of it, there was obviously nothing the Bulls could have done about it. IMHO it is a shame and a scandal that that money was not used towarsd creditors of the old Bulls, or, failing that, put to good use for the growth of the game in general, and I am disgusted that it was taken as a Brucie bonus by the remaining clubs. I don't know if the vote was unanimous, (assuming there was a vote) but it doesn't matter as anyone who voted against it has still taken the money so can't be that troubled by it.

We were also docked 6 points as opposed to the 4 points previously dished when entering administration. Oh and where in the "rule book" does it state that by entering administration you are ejected from Super League? or that all the other clubs cast a vote on your fate, with strings attached!

Yes. As it was never agreed by us that it would be divvied up amongst the other clubs. We agreed to accept less money. We did not agree to make big cash donation to every other SL team - they did that all by themselves.

Totally agree with this post. We started out with minus NOTHING. Not many staff, Omar brought his own staff in to cover the shortfall in the catering side. Plus the people who knew how to manage the Stadium in total were no longer there. It was hard work for all concerned and perhaps we don't know the full story. The lack of revenue from the seven weeks without a game only made the situation much worse. The only revenue at that time appeared to be the Coral Stand - which held functions. It is always easy to be wise after the event.

Basically, if the club was a dog it would be going to see James Herriot.

Just wonder regarding the Sky money,if the one was sacrificed for the benefit of the struggling few.I would have thought that to safeguard the integrity of the RL family,that the Bulls Sky monies should be retained to pay off their creditors.This way,there would be security for new investment rather than edging the Club closer to extinction.Obviously not a penalty against the Bulls,but on the other hand,not a leg up to others at our expense in challenging times.

Indeed. If they'd gone down that route I don't think many would have argued against it. However..

I went to an event at in the coral stand last year - an under elevens tournament was being played. I think twelve teams each wth between 12 and 20 players had matches. So probably between 250 and 300 adults watching. It should have been money rolling into the club but they only had one person working on the bar. It took 20 minutes to yet served, they had no cold soft drinks and the gas for the beer ran out on all but one pump; they also had no crisps or other snacks available to buy. The situation was made more farcical when anotherbmember of the staff helped out but as she was strich muslim would only serve coffee. Many gave up on trying to get served.

Similar events at headingley always have fully stocked bars and at least three staff available to work the bar.

I dont think Gale has been happy since his best bud Whitehead jumped ship earlier in the year, he does have the odd good game but they are lost amongst the number of horrid ones.

Have to keep Sammut, but the number of tries the bearded weirdo scores is something we cannot do without, let Addy and Gaskell fight it out for the number 7 and keep Sammut.

I think it may be out of our hands whether we keep him or not unfortunately. I hope we do but have a feeling he will be one of the players other clubs will "find" room for under the cap.

I think Sammut enjoys being a big fish in a small pond, it does not always work when to go to a big pond and find you are a small fish, we will just have to wait and see, also depends who his manager is.
