I'm rather surprised he wasn't approached immediately upon winning his seat. He'll certainly be able to attract attention to the plight.
Secondly he's heading up a party who are putting up new candidates in the council elections in 3 weeks time so will want to make a local splash.
More importantly I believe his ambitions extend beyond Bradford West. He knows the boundary changes will affect his chances of retaining the seat in 2 years time. In 3 weeks the Bradford District also vote whether to have an elected an mayor.
Everything points to Galloway having his sights firmly set on being the leader of the 4th largest Council in England with the added responsibility of being in charge of the Police and other functions. Any person standing for elected Mayor would certainly have a vested interest in assisting the Bulls in their hour of need. The added bonus of getting one over on the other elected officials who shall we say are not exactly flavour of the month with Bulls supporters must be a priority.

| The one good advantage with having Galloway is he can't afford the bad press, last time it cost him, this time he'll have learned his lesson and he'll go out of his way to look good.

| Well two of his good contacts in the Middle East: Saddam and Gaddafi unfortunately wont be able to contribute unless Gorgeous George has kept some of their funding, and guess his mate in Syria is also a bit tide up at the moment. Still his contacts in Iran and North Korea might have time to contribute - though when they discover the the Bulls aren't a cover for a revolutionary anarchist movement they might ask him some difficult questions!
And we think we have problems with Hood and Caisley now?

And the board decides who shares can be transferred to.

And thereby lies the root of the whole problem!

I think you're confusing Galloway with each of the last three prime ministers. Easy mistake to make.

| There is. And there's also a difference between agreeing with someone and denouncing them as a genocidal maniac which, in the case of Gadaffi, is the drum Galloway banged for years.
Anyhoo, that's enough of that.
If Galloway the camera magnet has means of helping then we would do well to let him.

| Whilst I am certainly no apologist for George Galloway I do think we need to stop the projections re his connections abroad and consider just who he may be able to influence here in Bradford.
A large proportion of the wealth in this City is held by Asian business people ( many of whom bankrolled GG's Bfd West campaign), if GG can persuade Akhbar's, Mumtaz, Aagrah, Dilbag Cloth House etc, etc, etc, etc, etc....to engage with the Bulls on a financial basis this COULD work on so many levels:
- New money into the Club
- Expanding the fan base
- Expanding the player base
I notice that Petherbridge BASSRA Solicitors had advertising hoardings on Friday, and a prominent ad on the website, both of which I haven't noticed before (doesn't mean definitely wasn't there though!).
Whether people like it or not Bradford is fast becoming an Asian City and we would be foolish not to tap into this demographic to ensure our long-term survival.
If GG can help facilitate this...........

Exactly .... if Galloway's ambition is to run Bradford he will need the support of a cross section of people.
Let's face it, if Respect is to do anything it will have to start here in Bradford and all the other MP's are too busy scratching other people's backs and trying to make a name for themselves in London town to be bothered by events affecting their consitutents.
Galloway's not stupid - he knows an opportunity when it arises and he could prove very very useful.
Whatever you think of him - he's a great publicist, an engaging speaker and attracts people to causes.

| Galloway certainly has a knack of appearing at the right time doesn't he?
I'm no fan of his at all, but as has been eluded to, if he can pull on the strings of the wealthy Asian community to perhaps invest (and perhaps increase the fan base at the same time), maybe it could be a useful bit of PR from GG.
Or is that just pie in the sky thinking?

| If we go into administration and no credible plan emerges, it is academic anyway.
If we go into administration, and a plan emerges that enables a new club to rise, but unable to fund operating at SL level and so has to start in the lower leagues, then it is academic anyway.
If a plan emerges that IS properly financed, and if the new owner is deemed a fit and proper person by the RFL to run a SL club, then the RFL will have to come up with a very good reason to backtrack on their stated position that insolvency will be judged very seriously in future. Lap of the Gods there?
I'd prefer to stay out of Administration at all costs, so we never have to put it to the test.

Hasn't Duckett already stated that there is a plan once the debt/cash-flow issue is resolved ? In fact isn't that the basis for taking your money via the pledge ?
It would be a no-brainer for the RFL. Have a functioning Bulls in SL or not considering the money generated by a functioning Bulls for a) the competition and b) other clubs.
