Is the rumour a takeover like the Hull sharks gateshead thunder carry on? There is speculation wakey are going down the same route as well. It would feel a bit dirty if we found ourselves playing top flight on the back of that.

Surely the RFL wouldn't allow him to pull out of one SL team to buy another or even do a backdoor job by letting his wife own one club and him another. However, if the RFL were considering the possibility of letting franchise owners sell or relocate it might work.

Crazy theories will continue unless ChaLo spend some money. They started because people have been unable to work out why they took us on with RFL backing when they don't appear to have anything to invest.

On the Salford forum they think they are heading for a Manchester red devils rebranding. They are winning games and are still pulling in crowds around the 3k mark. Not very sustainable in my opinion.

Like you say it would be nicer to earn a SL place than go in the back door.

Sorry, I don't buy it. So you are all alluding to Koukash being behind it all? The same Koukash who had a very fractured relationship with the RFL? So he has been given assurances that the Bulls will be back in SL next season under some restructure, with him merging Salford with the Bulls?
Sounds like utter nonsense to me. What's in it for him? And if he is the owner, then why is it a secret? He is not known for being publicity shy is he?

My problem with all this is it would mean that this season, where on any view a huge amount of money wil have had to be spent by someone, will have been a bogus waste of time. Doesn't make sense.

It must of course be true that there is something else we don't know about between Cha-Lowe and the RFL and as I and many have said since it happened, it isn't easy to see "owners" said to be potless either being in place log-term, or indeed getting the gig from the RFL when so plenty of people say there were other offers wih actual money to spend. But its not a way to treat your fans for a season.

Oh well. Whatever is in the background, I try to keep sight of the fact we're still operating, but sending threadbare squads of young lads to predictably get caned by seasoned pros doesn't seem a great way forward to me.

And if we do gopart-time next year then I really do not understad whatsoever why Cha-Lowe took the job or were gien it, because a part-time team can't even dream of SL.

That's a guaranteed way to get the team motivated, tell them they all will be p/t next year so need to find a new club if they want to stay f/t!

Some of them aren't very happy as you'd imagine. A lot of these lads have young families to look after.
As for it being strange timing, aren't clubs allowed to speak to players regarding the following year in May 1st?

Going through some real adversity. No real leadership apparent at the top. My fears for the club are increasing.

Yeah the anti tampering deadline is soon, but we could have just as easily given their agents permission to speak to other clubs without mentioning the possibility of part time rugby. Not suggesting they lie to them but they didn't have to demoralise the whole squad in the process either!

And while I am for giving Cha-Lowe chance, not if they want to drop the club to P/T. That would be a complete betrayal - there's no way back from doing that.

It would good if someone took the reigns that could take us forward.
