This really is excellent marketing by the Bulls. I hope it pays off.

Assuming he booked it a few weeks ago, the timing at the time would have made absolute sense.

He'd not have expected then both that we would be out of the playoffs AND that the Bulls would make an announcement like this. Surely?

I think you are probably being extremely unfair, tbh.

Just had a word in my ear from a very senior source at the club that its going really well so far - apparently its been crazy since the announcement (so suggest bear with them if necessary?) - and they are really really pleased with the response so far. They may be able to get an update out later today. Vital to keep the momentum going and build it up!

I thought they may be struggling to keep up with the number of pledges in these early days. Can't wait for the update!

2-4 on Saturday clashes nicely with the Challenge cup final and a lot of people with an interest in RL otherwise engaged.

Should have done it on Saturday, the players getting involved in the EDL/UAF ding dong would have been great publicity for the scheme.

I am more than willing to hand some out at ASDA in Shipley, maybe if some others do other supermarkets etc it will reach the thousands that do shopping in the Bradford Area. And just for good measure a coupe of the bullettes stood with me would be a good idea!!!!!!

thursday makes perfect sense now.

Sounds like its going well. There's new season ticket holders, people who haven't been before, half of the walk-ins are signing up. Not to mention people's families and friends.

It seems to be going to plan so far!!

After the Buzz on Sunday suprised its not higher, but i suppose they will have postal ones to count and havent gone throug hall emails/texts ..

still its around 1360 per 24 hr perid which aint all bad and means 10,000 should be hit by Wednesday next week...Easy peezy

Collected a load of leaflets at dinner time. 200 posted through doors already!

While I was there though, overheard an interesting conversation - one of the office staff talking to someone on the phone - she said that if the target not met then the price would be reduced pro-rata, eg, if 9000 were sold then rather then the full saving (£174?) you would get 90% of the full saving so £167. The ticket therefore costing £75. I think that's right anyway.

yes it is on a sliding scale.the further away from 10,000 the more we pay.

I imagine 6-7k will come fairly quickly, largely consisting of existing season ticket holders and few extras/additional family members etc. The remaining 3-4 thousand will be the challenge, but should be achievable as given the cost it will make sense for those who only go occasionally to make the pledge. The key thing is generating a buzz, so people feel they might be missing out on something exciting if they don't pledge. The only draw back there, is that some people could just sit back and wait to see if they get 10,000 and still benefit from the cheap price without making a 'contract' with the club, it relies very much upon the idea of a collective good stemming from collective action, which is quite a novel approach in these days of consumerist individualism.

Am I right in understanding that if you pledge and the 10k isn't met, then you have no obligation to buy at the higher price.

On the Bulls website there is a pledge total.It was on 2,720 last time I checked.

I gotta admit, I was expecting more than that.

This is what happened when City first did their scheme, the initial offer was pay £138 and get one free, if they got 10,000 pledges, but there were a lot of people who didn't sign up because they were in it with someone else and wanted to benefit from the free ticket that would have come their way.

That 10,000 figure wasn't met (it was 9200 or something like that IIRC) but the club ended up shifting about 12000 first time round because some people who had sat and waited hoping for a freebie then bought one anyway as £138 was still unbelievably cheap compared to before.

To be fair that isn't bad going in the first 48 hours.

The trick will be to keep the momentum up, a well timed signing announcement or two to boost interest is the obvious tactic, maybe some kind of event a few weeks down the line?

To those buying children passes at £45, if yourself is saving over £100 on the adult season pass. Why not spend the extra £15 to make that two pledges instead of one?
